Join me on a Delta 737-900 that may look like any other 737-900 but subtle differences can be noted because this plane started with Malindo Air, a former airline of the Lion Air Group. Delta already has it’s original 737-900s in their fleet so why did they take on these used aircraft? Find out in this video as I take you aboard one as we fly Peter Masella style on a short flight. This video includes some new filming points of view!

  1. Great video Peter, really like the multi-cam. I appreciate the work you put into these videos.

  2. Always enjoy your videos with details of ATC. You were speaking so fast made it hard for me to understand your comment about Delta and the 737 Max. Although Delta isn’t flying any Max’s now they have ordered 100 Max 10’s with deliveries to start in 2025.

  3. ValuJet Airlines—as a bad, terrible company as it was back in the 1990s—operated older MacDonnell Douglas DC-9 models that were built back in the 1960s, and Delta (interestingly enough) operated this one particular DC-9-32 (which later known as Flight 592, which crashed into the Everglades, FL) from 1969 to 1992 before ValuJet purchased(?) the plane in 1993.

  4. Great takeoff with the 3rd person views and flight review. You have a viewer(me), who lives in in Palm Coast(11:11). What a great view of my town, you can even see my school and the area of the town where I live at 11:20 near the left of your screen towards the ocean.

  5. Another top-notch video from Mr Aviation! Always enjoy your videos Peter, thanks for the work and effort you put into them. Cheers 🥂

  6. Love your videos. Don’t get to fly as much as I want and this is great to share love of flying. With all the high tech all airports still have windsocks. Some things are just too good.

  7. Delta is known for buying used aircraft and for flying older aircraft. Their entire B717 fleet came from Air Tran. I remember in the early 2000's seeing an old B732 at the gate – with more rivets in it than thought possible. A first officer was eating next to me and we struck up a conversation. He said it was a great plane to keep in the fleet,

  8. Great video Peter. It would be good if we could hear the engines on takeoff instead of music.

  9. I just want to say that you do such a good job. I love all the info on the plan. The route. Everything. Your videos are so well done.

  10. Peter, nice pic of Stone Mountain at 12:48 as you were lining up for ATL Rwy27L. (Edit: correction, looks like it was 27C. And on the taxi in you were going almost as fast as Southwest-ha!)

  11. Notice that the first 600 feet of Daytona's Runway 7L has no taxiway access. That still leaves 9,900 feet, so virtually all aircraft start their takeoffs from the first taxiway, N1. They can request the full length if they want it, but none of the scheduled domestic flights need nearly that much length so why take that extra minute and put the wear on the tires doing the back-track and 180-degree turn.
