ANA New Pokémon Jet Unveil + First Class Tokyo to London



I was invited to the Pokemon Eevee Jet unveil event in Tokyo with a newly painted ANA B777-300/ER featuring Pokemon character Pikachu and Eevee. I was supposedly to fly from Tokyo to London in ANA First Class “The Suite” on the Eevee Jet the next day…

ANA flight from Tokyo Haneda to London use the new Terminal 2 International facility. I visited the new ANA Suite Lounge, it was quiet and spacious but I found it lacked privacy. At the gate, there was some disappointing news, the new Eevee Jet went tech and was substituted by a B777 in ANA regular livery. Nevertheless, passengers still received the Pokemon souvenir during boarding.

The ANA First Class Suite was impressively wide and came with all the usual First Class amenities such as comfort kit, pajamas and even a cardigan on loan to passengers. Flight time to London was over 14 hours with unusual routing flying North via the Bering Sea, Alaska, Arctic Circle, and Greenland. This is to bypass the Russian airspace due to current restrictions.

After takeoff, I went to check out ANA Economy and Premium Economy product offerings. The Japanese airline offers better meals and legroom in Economy. Back to First Class, I enjoyed a five-course dining and went behind the scenes on how the crew prepares Japanese Washoku meal onboard. We flew past some incredible sceneries over the Arctic and Greenland on the way to London. Before landing, I gave my thoughts on the ANA First Class product.

    ANA my favorite airline. I flown them many times. I love their business class “the room”. Just booked today roundtrip to SFO from Manila for October. Taking wife and daughter back to US. I booked business class because of them large seats, so my wife and daughter can sleep laying down.

    Nice video thanks. Can't believe their economy is only 2-4-2. Must be very wide compared to the usual seating arrangements of 3-3-3 or 3-4-3.

    Hey Sam, I recommend to visit the Las Vegas Sands Corporation! I don’t know if its open to the public tho. Sands aviation has 2 747-sp’s & an A340-500!

    I have done contract work for ANA for many years. The employees are polite , respectful and very professional. ANA is the epitome of customer service and attention to details. Along with JAL they are among the best of the Asian airlines. ✈️

    I think when ANA considers even more 787 orders in addition to current 100-strong fleet combined, it would be nice to have both 777X and 787 exactly the same cabin products throughout their entire wide body fleet for international long haul flights. Take a note of Emirates 777 first class suites, it would be nice to have ANA the Room seats on 787s due to its platform, Safran Fusio, is designed to work with A350, B777 and B787. This exact same seat can be done by reducing the number of seats per row, and reducing rows of business class seats on 787, given it is quite profitable on 777s per seat of business class. All can be done without sacrificing economy class seat legroom. This will be 1-1-1 layout on long haul 787s, except those 787-8 and 787-10s used in domestic routes and short haul international flights using recliners, and except those A380 Hawaii trio from Narita due to different target audience. They need to order additional 100+ 787-9s and future 787-10ERs combined and eventually making way to 200-strong 787 fleet with longest flights using prospective 9500 nmi ultra long haul 787-9LR to Santiago de Chile possible as part of prospective Tokyo-Santiago de Chile-Buenos Aires/São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro South American trio.

    Treated myself to ANA business class on mid-haul once. It was absolutely fantastic! You can't really go wrong with ANA.

    Onboard camera doesn't seem to work very well. Altitude and speed didn't seem to update in real time and it said 37% journey completed as you were landing😅

    すげえ～！なイーブイジェットですわ～。しかし、"Uh, sir, at the 0:54 mark it's called a "Poké Ball" (no "-mon" at the end) or "Monster Ball" depending on the locality"と言います。残念でした、すげえの飛行機が乗りたい。The livery art seems to appear like from a Uniqlo shirt of the same theme.
    That Air Do's Rokon Jet (Vulpix Jet), proudly presented also at the start, should be held in equal regard…
    500 seats on a 777-300ER reminds you of a certain Turkish airline with an Indian codeshare?
    Hope someone makes proper closed captioning for this video. "Mills" for "meals"…
