レンソイス砂漠は、ブラジル北東部マラニャン州の大西洋岸にあります。白い砂はアマゾンの支流から大西洋に流れ込んだ石英です。長い年月をかけて貿易風と大西洋の荒波に研磨されながら積み重なり、巨大な白い砂漠が創り出されました。砂漠は太陽の光に反射して純白に見えます。
The Lencois Desert is located on the Atlantic coast of the state of Maranhao in northeastern Brazil. The white sand is quartz that has flowed into the Atlantic Ocean from a tributary of the Amazon. Over the years, the trade winds and the raging waves of the Atlantic have worn and piled them together to create a vast white desert. The desert looks pure white because it reflects the sunlight.
