Welcome back to another Dog Adventure Japan video. In episode 2 we head down the west coast of Izu to 2 locations. On the way, we stop at Tofuya Bakery Table for some great bread.

In the Futo Beach area, we started from Tagosehama (locals call it TagoseBAMA) beach. The hike to Futo is only 1.5 km or so but a bit steep in some places. We let the dogs run around and even jump into the ocean. They just can not, NOT go into the water! Gotta love dog life!

Dogashima, we just stopped for a bit but enjoyed the weather. I didn’t post much because there are a ton of videos about Dogashima online (I know that’s not how YouTube works). But do stop by and even catch a boat tour and a good hike up the mountain. You won’t regret it.

Please let me know if you need the google map links for these places in future videos. I figure if you got this far, you know how to use Maps! I could be wrong though!

About Us:
I have always loved looking for places in Japan to explore and enjoy during the weekends. But most channels, in Japan, spend too much time talking about things that are self-explanatory. I wanted to make this channel to give you a sample of places where you can go with your dogs. Talk about the plus sides and negative sides of the place. Pointers and tips when you get there. Then you can go out and enjoy those places as well. Sometimes, I even like to add cooking and baking items to our videos.
Along the ride will be our 3 retriever dogs, Bobbi, Lily, and Lucy. They just love going out, seeing the world and hiking Japan’s beautiful trails. It seems every year, more and more places are catering to dog families. Letting our dogs go on these adventures helps them, as well as us, with building a lifestyle that is rewarding.
Come along with us as we travel around Japan and finding these little gem areas and making friends along the way.

  1. Nice 👍. Love the video. Was there last weekend with the gale force winds churning the seas around Dogashima. Hiked from Dogashima to the same trails and found a nice family run restaurant in the sleepy port where you guys started your hike. Managed to just catch the bus back to Dogashima and then to Shimoda. Try to go there as much as possible. My ward, Suginami-Ku, has a 3 nights / 4 days pack including breakfast and dinner for 9,000 Yen TOTAL in Yumigahama Beach from December to March. There is also a 5N and 6D for about 10,200. I will be there again in 3 weeks time to do some more hiking.
