Today I’m walking around outside of Toki Messe and the nearby riverside in Niigata city, Japan.
Toki Messe is a multi-purpose international convention center that opened in 2003. It’s the tallest building on the Sea of Japan coast, and it has a hotel, restaurants, an art museum, conference rooms, and offices of several international organizations. It’s also the home of the Niigata Albirex Basketball Team, a professional basketball team that plays in the B.League. Toki Messe is named after the toki, the official bird of Niigata Prefecture.
