Riding a train on Nilgiri Mountain Railway. The section from Coonoor to Ooty is part of India’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. Although steam locomotive trains no longer run this section, nothing is more amazing than how this railway has been operated and preserved for a century. Passengers will enjoy the beautiful scenery of rivers, acacia forests and expansive tea plantations along the tracks.

It is not toy train, but metre gauge train! From Coonoor to Ooty is diesel operated. Actually the part from Mettupalayam to Coonoor is the heritage rail and operates on century old Swiss steam engines and rack&pinion tracks. Try that.
Great!
