This is the absolute Japanese guesthouse.
On the night of my visit to Togakushi Shrine, I stayed at the guesthouse “Oseki-house Showa no Toraya” in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture, and enjoyed the Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen.
You can visit Togakushi Shrine in combination with Togakushi Shrine, and the ancient battlefield of Kawanakajima is also nearby. If you lose yourself in the magnificent flow of the Chikuma River, you can sensitize your mind to the eternal wonders of the world.

[Osekkai House ShowanoTraya]
As the name suggests, this guesthouse is an old private house inspired by Tora-san from “Otoko wa Tsuraiyo” (This is a famous Japanese comedy film of loyalty and humanity, tears and laughter.)
Although the outside and atmosphere are reminiscent of the Showa period, the facilities are modern and up-to-date for the 21st century, so you can rest assured that you are in good hands.
When you visit the guesthouse, you will feel as if you have returned home.
Tora-san himself is probably a traveler and a recluse, so I feel as if I could temporarily synchronize my mind with his mind.
The proprietress was a wonderful person, and I still remember the many conversations we had in the diner about life, love, and other topics.
I feel that in my life, the equation of visiting Nagano Prefecture and staying at Toraya Showa no Toraya is a given, right?
You don’t have to visit while you are on a trip.
Whenever you are tired of your job or tired of living your life, you can visit here and find hope in the morning sun and walk around looking up at the sky.

[Tokurakami Yamada Onsen]
The atmosphere of the Showa period (1926-1989) has been preserved in this hot spring resort town.
Red lanterns are hung along the streets, illuminating the streets with a mysterious red light and creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Although it is a so-called “entertainment district,” there are numerous pubs and snack bars, and it is unlikely that you will be ripped off.
It is a good idea to ask the people at the hotel where you are staying for their recommendations.
Also, the proprietress of the nosy house Showa no Tora-ya and the guests of the hotel will have good information.
Currently, young people in the community are considering various measures to ensure that visiting tourists can also enjoy the area in peace.
The initiative to preserve the atmosphere of a Showa-era hot spring resort may serve as a good example for other hot spring resorts throughout Japan.
There are also a number of hot springs that can be visited on a one-day trip, and the prices are inexpensive.
I visited Kame no Yu, which I think cost 350 yen for an out-of-towner fee.
