We hiked Mt. Ibuki, the highest mountain in Shiga Prefecture. From the summit at an altitude of 1,377 meters, we enjoyed stunning views of Lake Biwa and the Japanese Alps. The hike is relatively easy for beginners, but be sure to bring appropriate clothing and gear.
