This August, I took a trip to Hakodate, the southernmost city of Japan’s 2nd largest island Hokkaido. From here I was also able to take a day-trip to Aomori prefecture just across the sea on the northernmost part of Japan’s mainland to see its famous Nebuta Festival.
The Nebuta Festival is one of the 3 biggest festivals in the northern Tohoku region, and attracts tourists from all over the world to see its colourful illuminated parade floats.
I also took some time to go sightseeing in Hakodate, including one of the 3 best night-views in Japan, at Mt. Hakodate, and also the city’s famous star-shaped fort Goryokaku.
So sit back and join me on my biggest ever summer trip in Japan! I hope you enjoy the video!
