🌎 : EUNPYEONG DISTRICT, SEOUL (9.1./10)
Desperate to get out of the city and see the outer districts, i headed north to Eunpyeong. I stumbled upon an antique/trash store tucked away in the corners of a neighborhood and bought myself some bargains. #seoul #southkore #korea

🦧 WHO AM I?
Dan. Sooner or later i’m gonna be a corpse in the ground, worms eating my body and my atoms will disassemble and move off to finds new uses elsewhere in the universe, probably to create a turd. Why take things so serious, why work a job you hate, why listen to people telling you to do things you don’t want to do, life’s too short for any of that foo foo. I create exploration videos in the hopes of inspiring others to travel and see planet earth. Waterfalls, Aurora Borealis, Curry, Pyramids, Lions, Live Music & Laughter. How Bout That?

I love how the people gather in the market areas… And how it all seems so natural…… These areas have evolved through necessity not created as an attraction…. The people truly live in harmony…… Thanks for sharing another great adventure…. Made another great Sunday here in America bro….. ☮️
Best Vlogger!!

That's one of my fears – Seoul eventually turning into something like NYC or London concerning cost of living. It seems like every few years there seems to be several "up and coming" areas of Seoul (Yeonnamdong, Hipjiro, Seongsu just to name a few) you have to check out, leading to bland gentrification. I mean, how many cutesy Hanok coffee houses does this city need? To be fair, some of these older Dong's definitely need some TLC but this doesn't mean building more soulless Sky Park/LG/Hyundai Apateus. But due to the hypercentralization of Seoul and great housing demand (mostly property investment), I can't see anything but these monstrous Lego block buildings being errected. I fear what will happen to my dear Dobong-Gu in 20 years. Which Dong will be left?
Lets Guuuu! looking forward to a European series. Which Gu will u visit next? I want to suggest some spots to explore
W0W! That district was really PoPin! Is there any kind of night life in that district? Hard to believe ya lived so close & never stumbled upon that ively neighborhood. Another fun watch. Thanx for posting.
Another lovely video. Keep it up buddy. 👍
You just unlocked mysterious flute playing guy in the forest. Misson credit earned 1000 golden points. 😊
0:39 if that street is dirty, you should come to New York and check out our street.
You walked passed my wife's office!
I've lived in Korea for almost 12 years now and it's good to see some of the places you're going. I've been watching a lot of your vids recently. Keep it up.
Dan, do you use a T Money card or something similar for the bus?
LETS GU!!
That "not gonna do any talking… Maybe I talk a little" part was amazing 😂😂😂
that soju glass is more than nice for 3k won.
We bought an apartment in Susaek-dong in 2001 by the DMC station just before the world cup in 2002. Since then all the old surrounding neighborhoods have been bulldozed and replaced with new apartment blocks. Sorry to see old neighborhoods go, but it is certainly better living spaces for the kids.
Because of your vids, I bought my first Makguli at a local H-Mart for about $5. I'm not sure what I expecting it to taste like, but it just tasted like a cheap boxed wine. you guys always made it seem like it was something exotic. But I'm not really an alcohol drinker. Next up is Soju, which costs about $8 a bottle.
Spent the weekend camping in Gapyeong. Touristy stuff is cool, but getting into the non touristy areas is my favorite.
Most cities in the world are developed in similar fashion such as most new developments talking place in the traditional city downtown. And the further away from downtown the less dense it becomes and usually residential neighborhoods. Seoul is totally opposite. The further you go outside of downtown the newer it is and just as dense if not even more dense than downtown. The density of Seoul region stays the same in the neighborhoods. Whether you are in Incheon or seongnam the density is similar to Seoul city. And usually have just as many new buildings. If not more. Also the neighborhoods around downtown Seoul is the oldest and not much tall apartments. For example every Japanese city is mainly developed only in the downtown area and couple big train stations. Once you leave downtown it's mainly residential neighborhoods as far as the eye can see. Japanese cities sprawl is worse than USA cities. Most Japanese neighborhoods are low density 2 story detached homes without much retail shops. Shops are only clustered around the small train stations.
컴백해서 반갑습니다. 용기 잃지 마시고 꾸준히 활동하다보면 빠른시간안에 구독자 10만에 이어 100만 찍고 골드버튼 받고 대박 날 겁니다.👍
Never fail to keep us inspired Dan. We’ll be there in November. Have to rewatch all your vids again and take note for daily adventures. Much love.

When i arrived in S.Korea in June this year, I stayed in Eunpyeong district for 10 days. Living with in laws. So many shops, markets. Very crowded. I loved the rooftop view of his apartment. I would drink coffee up there in the mornings. My first return to Korea area, after 37 years.
i visited that hanok village. lots of koreans are living there, i think, but it's a pretty affluent development. i think it's desirable because of the old-school traditional beliefs about geomancy (pungsu) and the location close to the mountains. it has one of the funniest 7/11/GS in seoul. it's like crammed inside a brand new hanok-style building. total clash of old and new! on the main street there's also like typical korean body-builder gyms located inside hanok buildings, too. it does has a real 'new build' vibe to it though. half the plots were still under construction when i visited. given a choice between a new apartment and a new mock-hanok building though, i'd rather live in one of those villages any day!

love the videos, keep them coming
I sat down to watch this video with an empty stomach, bad idea, all the street food stalls made me hungry. So I cooked stir fry pork and then hit play again, much better 🙂 What a great place! a great video with a raw style so no BS. Impressed with how quickly you picked up Korean, good work! A chilled Half an hours viewing.

Dan, I was born and raised in Korea then I lived in the US for 30 years. Now I’m back to Korea. But because of my horrible childhood memory here in Korea, it’s been extremely difficult to adjust. Your videos about Korea have acted as one of the best medicine for me to have proper view about Korean people especially Korean men. Thank you so much!
I'm Korean, yet I'm enjoying your 탐험s a lot. Thank you for great 탐험s!
I was literally looking up places to visit on YouTube for my trip to Seoul in December and you popped up…. I hope you enjoy all the places you have visited.
