Cold and lonely star trail photography in Japan

About my overnight trip to an unknown natural rock arch on the dark coast of Wakayama, Japan for star trails photography.

This was on Christmas Eve; it was cold, nobody was around, and I was underprepared for the elements. Plus my blood sugar meter didn’t work in the frigid air, and I couldn’t climb the cliff to get out of the area.

Good fun.

But the photo turned out nice, and hey it’s a good tale isn’t it?
