The geography of our planet is extremely unique, there is quite simply no other planet like it.

The geography of a country plays an important role in aiding or hindering its political, economic and military strength.

If you are a small, landlocked flat country, you will likely be an easy target for an invasion.

If you are surrounded by gigantic mountains, this helps to prevent land invasion, but it may also hinder your trading options.

So in this video, we’ve researched some of the most disadvantaged countries in the world when it comes to natural geography.

  1. We can see the consequences of geography in Taiwan where the population is squeezed into a relatively narrow strip of land, with concomitant congestion and air pollution.

  2. Objection. Uzbekistan does not have as many earthquakes as this guy seems to emphasise. Otherwise, all of those unique architecture built during and after Timurid Empire would have fallen down by now

  3. As a Bangladeshi, it's not a typhoon it's called a Cyclone here. Yes we are sinking and we are not a poor country, our economy is booming. At last, India is the major reason behind Ganges being polluted and India is also responsible for the drought in some parts of Bangladesh, it's because they closed off the gate to the tista river. If they have opened the gates for Bangladesh, then people there will never face droughts. Bangladesh has been trying to get this done but India being a dickhead, always refusing to open the gates. One of the many reasons why India is hated here in Bangladesh despite being our ally during the 1971 war.

  4. This is the smartest video I have seen with regard to its perspective in a long time. I have seen so many geographical videos in my research and this is one gets it. Great perspective. Never thought of this angle and it is so true. So smart.

  5. Russia has a geographical disadvantage? Seriously? Full access to Arctic sea routes, massive forests and water resources, 14 seas and other stuff surely do not impress you. Is it really necessary to say politically biased things just to be on a hype with the current world agenda in a geographical video ? You could at least have done some research on the topic rather than just say things you have no idea about.

  6. Huge differences in temperatures in Poland? Winters are around 0C summers 20C. Ok, there are rare freezing winter mornings with up to -20C (I am not talking about inversion effects in mountains), sadly summer heat waves are more and more frequent and probably +40C will be achieved soon.

BTW. Napoleonic France liberated Poland, whatever yours anti Napoleonic propaganda says 😂

  7. The landlock problem,is not a problem at all,is how you manage your resources.
Look at Luxemburgo and Switzerland. Landlock but filfthy rich.

  8. Stupid Russians, they should have given out their disadvantaged lands for free but they protect them instead.

  9. Idk how Chile’s geography is the worst! The Andes definitely has protected it from wars and political strife to the east. The long coast gives it many options to access world ports.

  10. The true countries with Really bad geography in my opinion are the mountanious landlocked countries of central asia, mongolia, the central african countries and the south sahaara countries (from Mauritania to Sudan).
Russia, Chile, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Poland who were mentioned in the video, if you really think about it, they all have more advantages than disadvantages due to their geographies and are relatively sucessfull countries.

  11. I don't think lesotho is going to exist for long it is in middle of another country and it is dependent on that country whatsoever south africa will take over in a few years (no hate to lesotho)

  12. as an Uzbek, i can say that Uzbekistan’s climate is pretty good, high temperature doesn’t really affect for people bcuz we’re far from oceans and humidity. Also we have two seasons of harvest bcuz of sunny days (300/365) that’s why our fruit and vegetables are mouth watering 😄

  13. Mongolia is definitely the worst country to live in geographically, no access to water or ports, the Gobi, Mongol steppe, and numerous mountain range to the south, almost no rain because of this, the freezing cold Siberian winds, plus being in between 2 nuclear superpowers that they have to get on there hands and knees for

  14. You forgot Pakistan – Plaqued by terrorism, neighbors that hate them, extreme poverty, corrupt government, extremely radical population and little to no natural resources of its own.
