When I first attempted to buy a train ticket from a Japanese train station, I felt a little confused and overwhelmed, leading to anxiety and panic. However, I have created this video guide to help you navigate the process with ease. As it turns out, buying a ticket is actually quite simple, as long as you can navigate the screen to your preferred language, which, in my case, is English. Once you’ve done that, you can proceed step by step. Select your destination station by either its name or station number. Then, insert your coins or paper cash into the appropriate slot. I discovered that counting coins to the exact amount can be tedious, but the ticket machine can accept all the coins you insert and provide any necessary change. Once you’ve completed the transaction, grab your ticket and proceed to the ticket gate. Remember to retrieve the ticket from the other side of the gate, as you will need it to exit the train station in most cases. By following these straightforward steps, you can confidently navigate the process and avoid any unnecessary stress.
