A summer festival held in the precincts of Chofuiminomiya Shrine every year from August 7th to 13th.
The heroic “nobori dance” of men carrying two 20-30m long bamboos called O-nobori, and the women holding Tanabata decorations with lanterns called “Kirigoro”. It is a rare festival where elegant and beautiful processions go around a stone called Oniishi in the precincts, and is famous as a strange festival in the world. It is designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
毎年8月7日から13日の間、長府忌宮神社の境内で行われる夏祭り。
2本をつなぎ合わせて作られた大幟と呼ばれる長さ20～30ｍの竹を担ぐ男達の勇壮な「幟舞い」と、「切篭」と呼ばれる燈篭を付けた七夕飾りを持つ女達の上品で美しい行列が、境内の鬼石と呼ばれる石を周る珍しい祭りで、天下の奇祭として有名です。山口県無形民俗文化財に指定されています。
