This is a view from the window of the Tohoku Shinkansen, traveling from Morioka Station to Tokyo Station. While it takes approximately 11 hours for a local train to make the journey with stops at each station, the Shinkansen arrives in just 2 hours. The line initially opened from Omiya to Morioka in 1982, gradually extending over time, and now it’s operational all the way from Tokyo to Hakodate in Hokkaido.
On this ride, I’m seated on the window side of the D seat on the Tohoku Shinkansen. This seat is on the right side when facing Tokyo. Choosing the window seat on the right side offers changing and captivating landscapes, more so than the left side, allowing you to fully enjoy the attractive scenery.
