If you are looking to go beyond the tourist beaten track in Tokyo, I highly recommend you check out some of the neighborhoods that I go to in this video. Having lived in Tokyo for many different stints, I definitely appreciate the more relaxed parts of the city, unlike Shibuya, Shinjuku or Harajuku. In this video I’ll take you guys to the district that I used to like in called Otsuka and try my favourite tomato ramen, explore Sugamo which is known as Grandma’s Harajuku and then also visit my friends who are in the bar and brewing industry here in Tokyo! Check out their awesome places down below:

The travel health insurance I use – PassportCard Nomads: https://www.passportcardnomads.com/?ref=alinamcleod

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don’t have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they’re especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

  1. It gives me so much positive vibes whenever I watch your content. What's your secret of keeping yourself so much calm & composed . The best part is your smile while speaking flawlessly describing your surroundings. When I can expect you in India?

  2. Just an awesome video Alina. It was great getting to see your old apartment building and your favorite restaurant that was close by. But even better was getting to see your friends there. I know I probably say this just about every time after watching your videos but I really did thoroughly enjoy this video! My wife and I have a friend from Tokyo who still lives in Tokyo, who has offered to show us around Tokyo and other places in Japan, and I think it's about time we take her up on her offer. Thanks so much for this video!

  3. Hello Alina! 😁🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a super fantastic day! This is a wonderful excellent marvelous video! 😄👍❤️👏📹🇯🇵🍲🥇💯💫✨🌟 The neighborhoods of Otsuka, Sugamo and Itabashi look really amazing! Even the Craft Gin Bar Copain and Cask Village + Tokyo Ale Works looks really cool! Also the ramen soup at the Ramen Restaurant looks so delicious! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this fantastic excellent video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer ever! 🙂👍👏✈️🌎📹🥇💯🏆💫🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful marvelous glorious blessed day. 😊🙏❤️👋👍✨🌟

  4. The Duck booth had me laughing as you know it has been photographed probably over a million times! lol! Such a beautiful city and to run into and spend time with an old friend must have been a great cap to the day! 💕💕

  5. Well, Alina highlights the area's she ducks into when she tired of the fast paced life of the hip and modern in Tokyo. She always say's she like an old grandma, but I think that she's just comparing it to her wild model/actress days. She's slowed from a dead out run to a sedate jog. You notice she never stated how many pairs of red underwear she purchased. But I mean when your favourite is Tomato ramen what else would you wear. I'm definitely going to have to hit Jenya's Bar and Tokyo Ale Works as both look like a lot of fun. I'm mean a craft brewery, restaurant, liquor store and hotel covers all the bases. As usual you get the good stuff from Alina.

  6. Wonderful! The neighborhood where you lived for a while was very nice! On the other hand I must say that everything is beautiful and clean. Great video Alina. Thank you very much

  7. 大塚-巢鴨-地蔵通り・・・予備校生~大学時代を過ごした場所・・・今はこんなことになっているのか。行ってみたいなあ

  8. You look familiar with those areas and have good connections with the locals. I've been living in NZ for 26 yrs, and JPN looks more like a foreign country to me.
BTW, that duck butt beats me. Oh, and those red undies … zen zen wakarimaseeen!

  9. It's a place that even Japanese people living in Tokyo rarely visit. And time flies by so quickly. It's been four weeks since you left Japan, Alina!!!

  10. Great video Alina..Big shout out to Genya and her amazing bar..I have been a pub owner (Landlady) for 16 years here in London 🍻 ❤

  11. Ramen, sushi, mochi yumminess! This is a great video showcasing your previous place and "old" friends in Tokyo. Safe travels always.

  12. Wow, no love for Komagome where I stayed a couple of weeks ago.😢 I can't say I blame you since it's kinda boring but good for sleeping actually.

  13. 😂😂😂when I saw that cute li'l red underwear just right before the ending!!!! It was so freaking hilarious… lol…!!! BTW may it bring all the good luck and a great healthy life 😂😂😂to you, Alina….

  14. 城西エリアにある世界で2番目にクールな街、下北沢。商店街多い高円寺。中野吉祥寺あたりもおすすめですね。

  15. Hi, first time I got acquainted with your video and I say you know more about Tokyo than I am an Edokko! I left there decades ago lived in Finland n now in Malaga costa del sol. I like the style and the tempo of your videos❤

  16. Love the brewery tour!! Even without the sound it was great to see! And especially love that they have a hotel right on site! 🤩

  17. Hello, Alina Why do you travel so long away instead to traver here in the Americas continent where we have a lot of interesting countries?
