In the south of Japan, on the island of Kyushu surrounded by rolling green mountains, there is a place where you can find Dutch castles and palaces fit for a King – literally.
Huis ten Bosch is a bizarre Japanese theme park filled with life-sized famous Dutch buildings from all over Holland. In no-time you can walk from Utrecht to Gouda, from Leiden to Amsterdam and visit their iconic landmarks. With canals stretching over 6 kilometers long, more than 400,000 trees and 300,000 flowers and imported bricks from Holland, you will feel like you are cycling around the Netherlands instead of Japan!
On my visit to Nagasaki, I HAD to stop by this incredible theme park and even though the VR rides were a bit disappointing, walking around Huis ten Bosch definitely made me feel like this Dutch girl was visiting home again!
