  1. You got some good shots there. I picked up this lens last month, and have been enjoying it for the most part. I shoot a lot with vintage glass, and have actually come to prefer manual lenses for anything that doesn't involve a lot of tracking. However, having to adapt these lenses results in a slightly larger kit, which is usually fine, but I was excited to get something in the camera's native mount. Now the reason I said I'm mostly enjoying it, is that it's very difficult to zone focus with this lens. The aperture markings that line up with the distance scale are just not where they should be. I found the distance scale itself to be accurate, though, so you can still figure out, then remember, where to focus for the zone you want, but it's an unfortunate extra step. So far, I've just been sticking with the hyperfocal distance if I want to be reactive, otherwise I definitely don't mind taking the time to punch in and confirm focus for still subjects. And as you mentioned, focus peaking is a decent aid, but I too find it to be far too generous in highlighting those edges. Most times I will turn off the focus aids and just punch in to confirm. Which also makes me wish the X-T5 had a higher resolution viewfinder. But alas, not many cameras do. Happy shooting!

  2. the fact that camera manufacturers are now reaching out to you shows how good your content and photography is i cant wait to see where you will be in a year from now!

  3. I don’t think I’d be able to have the patience for a manual lens other than some occasional shots, but it’s nice that lenses like this are out there for those who enjoy it. It seems like a good deal.
