We have mulled wine everywhere here (UK) in December during the Christmas season. The classic version is to add to a saucepan a mediocre or terrible bottle of red wine, add cinnamon, star anise, cloves and orange slices over a low heat. It’ll warm the wine but not burn off the alcohol. Definitely warms you up. I can’t speak for Europe but if in the UK then drink it in moderation here or it’ll get you drunk very fast 😂
