Goshado, the central hall of Akagami Shrine, is thought to have been built around 1710. The shrine is composed of a total of five structures. The main structure in the middle enshrines Akagami. As such it is one of the rarest sites associated with the ancient Akagami Gongen worship. Elements such as the frog-leg struts and tie beam carvings typify Akita’s religious architecture, making this site have significant historical value.
