Kosciusko is NOT Australia’s tallest mountain! Try Big Ben on Heard Island which is a part of Australia!
Try climbing that.
Many moons ago I drove my mini minor to the top (before they stopped it) there used to be a letter box at the top. Couldn't see a thing as we were in cloud and it was summer.
Great place in summer also, the alpine wilderness areas provide so many options for hiking/bushwalking, camping, mountain biking etc, and the rivers are crystal clear and ice cold from the snow melt.
🤣 love how you used the term summit 😅 Correct, we don’t really have mountains, just large hills. Stay safe!
Thanks for showing us the beautiful scenary and the fast changing weather up there. Please be more wrapped in layers in doing similar trip next time.
Crazy great vlog!
My lord guys you really dodged a bullet there. It can be so dangerous at that time of the year up there, especially going unprepared like you guys. Jesus happy you're both safe.
Nearly all Aussies have been taught to mispronounce Mt Kosciusko. It's not "Cozzy oss ko". It's "Koz chooss ko". I know this because I'm of Polish descent.
Also, it might interest you (or not😅) that Tadeusz Kościuszko was a Polish military commander that is revered in many countries, from France, Lithuania, Poland and the USA. He fought for the American Revolutionary side in the war for independence from Britain, and against Russian oppression in Poland, Belarus and Lithuania. Legend!
Cheveyo! What you're wearing is a pair of what we Aussies call "ankle freezers". Just thought you should know.😊
Here's a little fact for you. I worked with a Polish guy and this mountain came up in conversation and I called it Kosiosco (the way we pronounce it) and he said it's actually Koshoosco (the Polish pronunciation)
I have to admit that, although, in retrospect, you made safely to the summit I was concerned for you safety as even in Summer the weather up there is changeable and can be dangerous, you really are intrepid explorers.
I’ve been up there when I was younger but in a more friendly season and you could drive most of the way. Sadly, I’ve never done the walk.
We used to pronounce it differently but eventually it was decided to spell it like the Polish General it was named after so they threw in a “Z” and pronounced it “ KOSHUSKO”
Another great video guys.
Was that the Loose Goose you had food in at the end of the video? If so had no idea it still existed. Twenty years since I’ve been up there. And have to say BARE ankles? Are you completely insane? I’m from Canberra and it’s way too cold for that there after March. Fabulous video. And brave. I only did the summit, once, in summer.
I've lived in Australia for about 38 years but I want to thank you for showing me parts of the country I have never seen . 🥰
Its an amazing walk, but don't underestimate it… especially in winter.
every Aussie should climb Kosi
Ive never been up that side. Im going to do it next year!
Thank you for showcasing a special part of Australia.
It's what I've associated Australia all my life, having lived in this region.
You really did a great job capturing the Main Range just at the start of the snow season, which Kosci is on.
The second highest mountain is Mt Townsend which you can see from Kosci is technically harder to walk up as it's like a massive boulder has been smashed on top.
Love the Snowies.
Fun fact, the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere is Perisher which is only like 20ks from where you were as the crow flies.
Beautiful! I felt the cold but the scenery is stunning. You two are very brave. Thank you very very much for filming your experience.
Congratulations guys. It's just yourselves and about 100,000 others do the summit walk each year. Only a tiny fraction do it at this time of year. Your stamina is amazing!
If you are feeling inspired go and look up an Aussie cultural icon, a poem titled 'The Man from Snowy River', which mentions Koszi and is set in our alpine region. Gives you an idea of how Australians felt about themselves once a upon a time.
You guys are so wholesome
i knew someone who said he drove to the top. he did this in 1930s .
Will come to Australia hope you love your journey
Undoubtedly the best YouTube vlogers ever to film Australia.
Your exicement in your videos and off the beaten track footage is outstanding.
Kudos to you both for your cinematography and such a natural and personable couple.
By far the best and enjoyable chanell to watch on travel videos.
You both bounce off each other perfectly.❤❤❤
Well done yet again guys bet you both slept well that night & you deserve the reward lol 😂, loved the footage of the clouds so kool ✌🏼🇦🇺
I remember when I was a kid, that was a few years ago, Mum and Dad drove me and my brother up to the "base of Kosciuszko and we only had to walk up maybe a hundred metres to the top.
You two have done better than we did! We tried to get there but only made it to the top of the chairlift because the weather was atrocious, and that was in summer! January 2016 to be precise. We had the then 10 year old with us though, and didn’t want to do anything stupid. We waited for a while in the cafe to see if it would clear, but it wasn’t to be. Back down we went.
