◯The Shonan Monorail, opened in 1970, is the first public transportation system by SAFEGE suspended monorail in Japan.
The area surrounding the line is a residential area and many people use it for commuting to work or school, but it is a also a favorite choise for tourists.
You can take this train when visiting Enoshima for an exciting experience and enjoyable trip!

◯Tips
– Take the seats in the front of the train to get the best view.
– The train looks more impressive from the outside. Get off at one of the station along the way to take a look at the train.
– You can eat Enoshima’s fresh shirasu (whitebait) in spring, summer and fall.
Fresh shirasu is not available between January and March, since it is the closed season for fishing.
– As Enoshima Shrine is located along the mountain slope, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
