Thanks for the video
Smore more tips:
– You can easily buy ticket for the tram or metro from the app "PID Lítačka" (dont forget to validate!).
– Uber works great in Prague and is very cheap, the local taxi app "Liftago" is very good as well (never just hail a cab on the street).
– It is not allowed to drink in public everywhere in Prague, especially in Prague 1/city center. Check out where it is okay and where it is not at:
https://news.expats.cz/expats-info/where-you-cant-drink-in-prague/
– Dont miss out on amazing areas of Prague like Zizkov, Vinohrady, Prague 6 and Prague 7 and more.
– Dont miss out on the many fantastic parks like "Riegrovy Sady", "Letna", "Vitkov", "Parukarka", "Havlíčkovy sady" and "Stromovka".
– And spend time at and around Vysehrad, especially the parts south of the castle since it is very unexplored by tourist but still very nice.
And don't forget the word ćesnitka. A vital word. Just as important as yes, no, & please. Garlic soup!
Prague is officially on my list now, I love how medieval it looks
One of my favorite places on earth. 💚
Happy New year woltersworld hope you and your family are doing well and be safe. From John from 🇨🇦👍✌️🎄☃️🎅🏼⛄️❄️🥂
Another shock, don't follow the tourists…watch the honest guide for real tips, from locals.
2020, the first year since 2013 that I have not been to Prague…….
There are plenty that will rip you off beware. especially the money exchange booths they are the worst.and because they are behind bullet proof glass you cant thump them.
Hello cool video and tell me, great fellow👍
Lovely city. Disappointing about the the graffitti but the architecture is still gorgeous. We are looking forward to going there again.
Ah, yes, the sunrise. Back in the early 90s I worked as a construction labourer in Prague. On one job we were working on the roof of an office block. We started before dawn, and you could see the sparking trams down on the street. Then the sun would come up over the castle, and everyone stopped working just to look at it. It made the day quite tolerable.
Please, if you visit the Czech republic and want to go to some concert, theatre, opera, … Please! Wear something better than T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. It's really impolite. Thank you <3
YOU DO NOT TIP IN CZECH REPUBLIC. Service staff all have proper wages. American tourists keep coming with their bad habits and this is causing annoyance to locals because now the service staff is expecting or even asking for tips when it is not a thing here.
After two visits, I am convinced there is an indifference, racism against people who are non White. Many others of the same background as I am, also noticed the same. Great looking city, but dubious treatment of some people.
I recommand exchange at KAPROVA 13 – for changing money with the best prices (better than bank) and 0% fee. Its 100meters away of Old Town Square and its best point in the whole city. This is not commercial, this is real expirience 🙂
I really really wish (and I’m not at all alone) that tourists wouldn’t get drunk in the streets and make so much noise and throw rubbish all around and not recycle when possible. It’s the main reason why locals sometimes frown upon tourists. And also to be honest, with covid the city became more livable because the huge crowds were gone…
If you’re interested in coming to Prague, I recommend looking up HONEST GUIDE. So much useful information on Prague from locals!
Prague is such a great town. It consists of 5 elements – history, food, music, river and height. Include all of them in your menu.
So 1st take a walk. Especially through Old Town and Lesser Town.
2nd Book your dinner.
3rd Book your concert place. Rudolfinum, Reduta, Jazz Dock
4th Take a boatcruise. Go for paroplavba.cz
5th Climb any of hundreds of towers. My tip is tower of Klementinum national library.
With kids? See zoo, enjoy some pools and visit Krivoklat/Karlstejn castle. While you are there visit Nizbor hand made glass works. And nearby presidential summer palace at Lany. And classic cars museum in Lany.
Any tips outside of Prague?
Cesky Krumlov (history)
Litomysl (unique architectonic jewell and great classical music festival)
Karlovy Vara (spa town)
Mikulov (center of wine region)
Cesko-saske Svycarsko (splendid nature)
Karlstejn (castle like no other)
Sumava (nature paradise)
And because Prague is center of Europe, Wien, Munich, Berlin are super close.
And do not learn Czech (-:
Just use your time in more efficient way.
There is only 10 mil Czechs on this planet.
And this beautiful and weird language includes vowels like “ř” …
You have been warned…
The train stations in Prague sound like Penn Station in NYC. You’re lucky if Amtrak gives you ten minutes.😀
Prague is great. Two things of note, the vendors near the Church of Tyn behind the clock have great gnochi and smoked ham. It's expensive because it is a bit of trap so close and there are places to get it cheaper im sure but hard to pass up with the view. Also the doughnut cones with chocolate and ice cream are amazing as well. It's a Prague specialty so you will see them about every 5 feet. Just make sure you look at the vendor and get the ones using charcaol.
You speak too fast
Hey, Mark! Good advice. But why is there such a short time in announcing which track your train is leaving from? Ten minutes sounds like quite a rush to me.
Apart from being more beautiful, i found Budapest to be better in everyways
Eating, drinking and making merry 'til dawn is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to Prague. A 56 year old, 6'2" crazy, white haired Canadian in a kilt. They won't know what hit them. Did I hear BAGPIPES???
I was born in Prague and lool u r very right about the main train station 🤣 but also about everything else in your video 🤗 so if one is a beer lover, Prague is the spot lol but also if you are a lover of good food and great Architecture and history. Prague is beautiful around Xmas time but also in summer time😊 I'm so glad y'all love Prague. I'm proud and I'm sure I'm speaking for all of the locals when saying, you are always welcome and we will gladly share the beauty of our town with you guys as long as you treat it with love and respect 🤗🤗
I've always been enamored with Prague! I've been wanting to visit since I was 15. Hopefully someday soon 😊
Dekuji from Cocoa Beach Florida
Ummm why use the word SHOCK – nonsense, click bait. I was DELIGHTED and CHARMED when I stayed for a while in Prague
Congratulations on the video. You're very creative. It puts a lot of emotions into your speech.
Which of these cities do you like more Vienna, Prague or Budapest?
5:56 yes tourist traps. you need know prices. local people are poor so go same place where they go xD. but living 1 week in prague eventually cost more than home. flight ticket not free xD
The one thing that shocked me most about Prague was how clean the city is… easily the cleanest city we have visited in Europe.
Coming here in mid September and I can’t wait. Especially can’t wait to go to all the cool and cheap neighborhoods that are little visited by tourists.
Just arrived in prague yesterday! Thank you!
Hey Walters. Which one best for diversity. Prague or Vienna? Will be travelling with group of young people from all types of background.
the One thing that shocked me about Prague, and I wish I knew ahead of time, is that places have two street numbers, one the street number, and one is some tax number.
Edinburgh looks more medieval than Prague.
Had to rewatch love prague and will be back for a week this summer doing day trips to outer cities I missed last time
the train thing reminds me of penn station in nyc! we always have to run when the finally post the track number and it's a mad dash trying to catch the train back to jersey.
Prague lives in my mind rent-free!
dille soup = kulajda
About the number of tourists… I started to avoid places that are overcrowded. I really hate it!
Your video made me want to give the city a second try, maybe during week days. I loved the pubs and restaurants but the touristic areas were so damn crowded.
“Amorous relationship…” 😉
🙂👍👌👑🤙✌️👊🙂
As a Czech who lives in Prague, I thank you for this video.
Well done!
(btw your pronunciation was actually pretty good)
One of my favorite cities anywhere! I felt so comfortable there! ♥♥♥♥
Just want to add a warning about taxi drivers–they are crooks and will drive you all over first. I lived there and told the drivers the street to use and directions but they ignored me and kept driving. I was a captive. Trust me-never get in one. Also be sure to always count your change after any cash transaction.
