Starlux Airlines First Class – A350 Inaugural Flight Taipei to LA

26th April is a milestone for the new Taiwanese airline Starlux as it launched its first long-haul flight to Los Angeles, CA. The chairperson of Starlux, Chang Kuo-Wei 張國煒 personally flies the A350 flight as the captain.

I was invited to fly in Starlux First Class. There are just 4 First Class fully enclosed private suites in the front and 26 Business Class suites on the Starlux A350-900. Starlux Airlines started operation at the beginning of 2020; the worst time in aviation history. The airline persisted and now flies 20 brand new Airbus including 13 A321neo, 4 A330neo and 3 A350-900.

    How long is the flight again? Good thing they have all that food on board.
    Do you preorder at booking or can you choose what to eat in-flight?

    Hi Sam This is a bit of an exaggeration. Obviously, Taiwan's Civil Aviation Administration has regulations that no one can enter the cockpit at will. Zhang Guowei was fined by the Civil Aviation Administration of Taiwan for your behavior of leaking the cockpit of Xingyu Airlines. What an inexcusable exaggeration of this violation!

    It's a great team from top to bottom, from chairman to the attendants. I would try Starlux if I need to fly back to mainland china from the US. Wish Starlux all the best and looking forward to SFO to Taiwan soon !

    You can clear immigration with them? What in the corruption? Can we do that in the Philippines to avoid offloading?

    Love the food, looked more like a Michelin star restaurant. The cabin interior and bathroom looks awesome. The amenity kit is one of the coolest I have seen.

    Thanks, Sam. I’ve flown to Thailand on Northwest Airlines (my favorite), Delta (my worst), Japan Airlines, ANA, British Airways (from London), Singapore Airlines (my co worst because of Customer Service problems and I’ll never fly them again), Hong Kong Airlines (only time that I flew Business Class because of a mistake fare), EVA and China Airlines (both have the advantage of quickest flight to Chiangmai; my hometown in Asia). Being from Kansas City, which just opened a new airport, I’m hoping some airline takes a chance and flies non stop to Asia from KC someday. It sounds like it won’t be this airline. I’ll give them a try someday if they fly to Chiangmai and the connection in Chiangmai isn’t too long.

    I am currently in my native country of Sweden visiting. On the way here from New York, we flew Scandinavian airlines economy plus. I really like that. The seats were wider, there was more room to stretch your legs, and the food was very very good. Unfortunately, I could not finish it because we had access to the lounge at Newark and we ate a lot at the lounge. So I could not finish the food on the plane. It wasn’t all there. A330-343. However, that is still a great airplane. They also dimmed the lights in the middle of the night. I tried to sleep, but for some reason my mind was just wondering, so I couldn’t. But I was able to rest. All in all, a great flight! Thank you for this wonderful review!
