During this Filipino Street food tour, Khee from @foodiemommaph guides me to her preferred spots in Marikina. Khee, a prominent figure in Marikina, actively promotes the area’s cuisine, culture, and attractions. Situated along the eastern border of metro Manila and adjacent to Quezon City on the west, Marikina has a historical significance as the former seat of Spanish colonial government and a base for Roman Catholic missions. Once known as the shoe capital of the Philippines, Marikina now boasts an underrated food scene, which Khee is determined to showcase to both locals and tourists alike.

At the recommendation of @ArnelAlina and @iflipover7749 I had the opportunity to hang out with @foodiemamaph and sample some of Marikina's best eats. What's your favourites in Marikina?
You know people enjoy good food when they are giving happy vibes.
I have a challenge.. No food cooked with oil and no vinegar, soy sauce or fish sauce. For one week!
Try pan de coco (coconut bread) they are my favorite
Very Nice. I am a big fan of Foodiemomma!
Wow😮 food collaboration, hope ypu can have more food collaborations with other food vloggers 😊
Go foodiemomma!
Lilac street is a food crawl in SSS village where I grew up..”Dapo at Tisa” is probably the most notable their KareKare and Bagoong is something else.. along with Forget Me Not Cafe, Miguel and Maria etc
Yeah! Marikina used to be my comfort place during the weekends pre-pandemic. Too bad things has changed.
I gotta go eat at Lola Helen's again.

thanks for the links in the description. must make a trek to Marikina when the weather gets better.
nice
Hangover breakfast food for me
What is with the cheese? Cheese is showing up all over Asia on all types of foods. I was in Hawaii last week and found my favorite, the traditional Ensamada without cheese, just butter and sugar. It was so delicious and brought back great memories. Sorry about my cheese rant.
Pan de Sal is just a dinner roll, looks like one anyway. You can put anything into it…a big pat of butter! 😋
Looking delicious!
Another vlog smashed out the ballpark!
18:06 I can even tell you where to go, because there is a good bakery and the owner is very passionate and knowledgeable about baking and products. "Tinapayan Festival Bakeshoppe" – he has the biggest variety of Pandesal and also produces historical pandesal vs. the one that filipinos currently eat. Among, of course, other products. If you really want to make a bakery episode, go to Lucito 'Chito' Chavez at his bakery near Santo Tomas University.
Excellent street food in Marikina.
What? You’ve been there for a while, you haven’t eat Pan de Sal😃, the new lady vlogger from Venezuela, saw a Pan de Sal vendor in his trike with oven👍
Goto is perfect on rainy days
My mom cook waknatoy really good coz my dad born and raised in San Roque Marikina and my dad is shoe maker. My mom marinated the meat in soy sauce calamansi juice pickles cheese in almost 8hour refrigerate it and cook it the other day. Don't think is waknatoy is sweet coz my mom never add any sugar.
Everything looks good…drooling here…so surprised that you have not tasted pan de sal yet….😂
I don't subscribe too much at vlogger.

You are just killin' it. So grateful i diged a bit deeper than the cover of your book!
You are a helluva Foodie Master bro.
Putong pulo originated from Polo, Valenzuela City, Bulacan. Its brown because of the brown sugar, while Putong Calasiao, is very similar in consistency and size but its white due to the use of white sugar.
All the foods you eaten looks super delicious 🤤🤤..I'm a new subscriber from foodiemommaph..👍😀🙏..Have fun here…😀😀
All u gonna do is… wow..just wow only in the ph..thank u for xploringour foods.. happy eating sir
Trivia: Putong PULÓ came from San Rafael, Bulacan which is 2 Barangays (barrio) from my Barangay called Puló. This type of Puto are the small ones either colored white or brownish-orangy. I was born and grew up in Manila and as a little kid then, I would ask my Dad to bring me a brown bag of mixed puto whenever he went home to the province to see my grandma and our ricefields. But now, the grandmas & moms who used to make this home business in Puló have gone, and their kids who have gotten educated pursued other careers and no longer continued eith the business. Now Putong Pulo are made in other places.
Enjoy Filipino food, glad you like it. If you're a foreigner and start to love Filipino food. Beware of your overall health, specially your cholesterol and sugar level. You need medicine support specially if you love meat. But good thing in my household we love fish, seafoods and more veggies. Very seldom we eat pork coz both my parents have hypertension.
I've never had that puto, is it really good? It has brown sugar, is it a sweet type of puto? Putong Pulo, I'll keep this in mind.
I subscribe to her too.
