These are images of the town most severely hit from the tsunami, 12 years later. The tree you see, actually survived the force of the tsunami, and was the lone vegetative structure standing in a 2 km radius. buildings were destroyed, the dam was destroyed, and most structures standing now are new, because they are rebuilding.
