Today’s Japan Walking Tour is the Japanese Garden at Expo’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka.
This beautiful Japanese garden was built for the 1970 Osaka Expo.
It was built by a landscape gardener representing Japan at the time, making full use of Japan’s best landscaping technology.
Follow the stream from west to east and you’ll find four styles of gardens. There are gardens from the Heian period (8th-12th centuries), gardens from the Kamakura and Muromachi periods (12th-16th centuries), gardens from the Edo period (17th-19th centuries), and modern gardens. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery that incorporates the style of Japanese gardens of each era.
