Back in 1996 , when I was six years old, we went for a family tour to Rajgir from Kolkata. This was the very first ropeway ride of my life and I was death scared. I was sitting on my father's lap in the same chair as my dad took me along with him to give me a great experience I suppose. I remember vividly that while we were climbing upwards, all of a sudden the chair stopped in the middle of nowhere and we sat there for approximately 20-30 minutes. Looking downwards was so scary that I was trembling with fear but my father asked me to close my eyes which I immediately did and, to the contrary, he was singing Rabindra sangeet nonchalantly. Finally we reached the destination, a secluded majestic monastery which lied on those hills. It was overall a great experience. Later on when we came down, upon enquiry about the chair issue we were told by the authorities that the electricity ran out which caused our chair to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. It was a memorable trip of my life.
