ALL ABOUT BANTAYAN ISLAND, CEBU (room tour + land tour) | Trisha Yu

Bantayan Island, a not so popular tourist destination in the Philippines, is located at the northern part of Cebu. Travel time from Cebu City to Santa Fe, Bantayan usually takes around 5-6 hours (land trip & ferry ride). Our Bantayan trip was during Holy Week and there were a lot of locals travelling back to their hometown.

Right after check-in at Beach Placid, we went to Big Jel’s for their unli seafood. Seafood is a MUST when going to Bantayan Island. Surpisingly during dinner, we were able to have a free scallop at Izla Sugba (located in MJ Square). BTW, they only give free scallops when there is an event only. Also, don’t forget to buy danggit or dried fish in Bantayan Public Market, make a wish at St. Peter & Paul Church, and try the delicious cakes of Kermit’s Bantayan.

To maximize our time in Bantayan, we hired a local tour guide in Santa Fe which was booked online. He brought us to Ogtong Cave, Ruins & cliff diving spot, Obo-ob Mangrove Garden (OMAGIECA), and Kota Beach.
