Jimokuji Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the city of Ama, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is about 6 kilometers away from Nagoya Station by car. The temple was founded in the 6th century by a fisherman named Ryumaro who found a golden statue of Kannon Bosatsu (Avalokitesvara) in a bay. The statue is said to have been brought to Japan from Baekje (now South Korea) in 585.
Jimokuji Temple is a National Treasure and is home to a number of other important cultural properties, including the Jimokuji Kannon Hall and the Hadamitsu-ji Castle Ruins.
