Golden Week is a series of four national holidays in Japan which is regarded as a time of vacation for the Japanese people. Initially, I only have plans of taking a rest during this period because of my busy schedule (experiments and Church duties) before and after these holidays. But when I stumbled upon this unique ropeway which is just 4 hrs from my place, I made an itinerary and look for other interesting and beautiful places near the ropeway to spend my 2-day self-love, de-stress holidays.
NAKAO KO(U)GEN HOTEL KAZAGURUMA. This is so far my most favourite hotel room in Japan. For Japan standard, the room rate for single occupancy in a superior twin room with private bathroom and a mountain view is affordable and not expensive. I have my own private onsen with natural hotspring water (I can smell sulphur in the water), a view of the lush greeneries and a view of the Hotaka Mountain Range. The room is a bit bigger compared to other hotel rooms I’ve been to in Japan. Although the price of the dinner was a bit expensive, the guest has no choice since the hotel is in a mountain and there are no restaurants nor convenience store nearby. But, room price comes with a free breakfast.
To reach the hotel, you have to use Nohi Bus, either if you are from Shin-hotaka Ropeway Station or Takayama Station and get off at Hoshinokane Mae Station. The hotel is just a 3-min walk from the said station.
Below was the amount of money I spent to de-stress and show love to myself . For the detailed itinerary, you can shoot me a message.
