Exploring Uluwatu Bali Travel Vlog 🇮🇩 GWK Park, Indonesian Food, Uluwatu Temple, Cave Surfing Beach

In this Indonesia Travel Vlog we head to Uluwatu in the south of Bali. We started by renting a motorbike at our hotel in Canggu which we used to drive the hour to Uluwatu. Our first stop was the GWK Cultural Park to see the famous 121 meter (400 feet) Garuda Statue. It’s the tallest statue in all of Indonesia! The tickets to enter GWK Park were kind of confusing….we opted for the 200,000 Rp ticket which gave us 200,000 Rp worth of food in the Jendela Bali Restaurant. So essentially the entrance ticket to GWK Park was free as we received the same amount that we paid in free food. We walked through the park to see all the different statues which was really neat (although filled with photo spots). We were also able to watch one of the free shows they have on almost every hour daily! Finally we reached the huge Garuda Statue! You could purchase tickets to go up the statue at the entrance for 300,000 Rp each, or it was an additional 250,000 Rp once you reached the statue. We decided not to go up to the top and just explored the base of it. After exploring the park we stopped by the included art museum. It was more of just a place to pay for photo shoots as opposed to a museum, however it was nice that you could take your own photos for free. After the art museum we headed to Jendela Bali panoramic restaurant for our ‘free’ 400,000 Rp worth of food. It turns out it was WAY too much food for the two of us!!! We definitely could have gotten one ticket for 200,000 and one for 125,000 but either way the Indonesian food there was so good! We got our favorites, Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado, as well as some hummus. At the end we tried an Indonesian Fruit Salad with shaved ice on top….and it came with avocado! Our first time trying avocado in a sweet dessert in Indonesia! Then we drove to the Uluwatu Temple. The temple entrance was raised to 50,000 each for foreigners. Although you get to wear a nice purple sarong for free. Unfortunately the temple was closed. However it was still SO nice to walk around and see the amazing cliff views! There were signs warning people about the monkeys..apparently they can be very dangerous! We saw one monkey ripping apart a lady’s sunglasses in a tree! But the cutest thing we saw was definitely a family of monkeys all sleeping together on the wall. When we left we went to the Uluwatu surfing beach. It was one of the coolest beaches we’ve seen! The walkway down was a crazy mix of cute cafes and bars, tons of surf shops, construction, and unique stairways through cliffs! There were so many people carrying surfboards down as it’s one of the best places to surf in the world! We found the amazing pool over the Uluwatu Beach and decided next time we’re in Bali we want to stay in Uluwatu!
