This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

  1. Nice flight 😊
I’m guessing you’re either retired and having a blast flying all over the world or your job/business involves a heck of a lot of traveling and you can integrate your love of traveling into your channel. Either way I enjoy living vicariously through you 😊

  2. This is also used for Manila to Japan like PR407/408 To Kansai Airport where you can connect to UA34/35 Osaka Kansai airport to San Francisco and Manila to Western Australia Perth PR220/221. The Fiesta class seats lack a power plug considering that the 5 star Airline Korean Air have both USB and Power Plugs fitted to their A321 fleets. Even the US 3 have them too. For the longhaul fleet they still lose out to Skyteam Korean Air Oneworld QR JL and CX Star Alliance OZ SQ BR and NH the Skytrax 5 star rated airlines that fly to or from Manila. Which is why you are Filipino passengers fly on out towards Europe USA Middle East. In the case of EWR/JFK SFO LAX to MNL you're better off with QR KE CX BR JL OZ and NH due to them having better service than PR.
I my brother and my mother have PR Mabuhay Miles since September 2002. Meal wise you should be going for the Filipino meal option

  3. Constructive criticism: The added wine prices in red were impossible to read for me due to the dark & busy background.
I'll be at both KLIA & KLIA2 next week "enjoying" a 3:50am departure time, something I haven't had to endure since 1994, if my memory serves me correctly. Phenomenal price though 😉

  4. Thanks for letting me relive this trip – took this leg in march for a KUL-HND trip. and yes, the transit was…"amazing". hope with the move to terminal 1, PR will have a better international transit experience.

  5. I have always heard the airline called PAL (pal), not P-AL. You are more likely to be correct than me, however 🙂

  6. The international to international transfers should be a little easier since they are now consolidated into one terminal. That being said, my PH domestic to US international transfer was really rough earlier this month (July 2023)

  7. Just visited the Philippines last month. 1 earthquake, 1 active volcano and 1 hospital stay for one of our party. Quite the trip!

  8. PAL's are go to if we're departing from the Philippines (if other airlines have similar fares). Might I suggest staying with them whenever you're coming through Manila.

Other airlines ehem Cebu Pacific ehem are currently undergoing some difficulties on the passenger side, namely cancelled flights on the hour of the flight itself.

  9. KL airport have an amazing place for planespotting, an opened area showing airplanes around you without need to go lounges or Starbucks, it’s on mian terminal upper level but you walk little bit but it’s worth it for long transit time in the airport

  10. I was just checking reviews with PAL BKK-Cebu in business. Go yes, but… no direct return flights! Strange.

  11. What can I say the worst international airline i have ever flown with.i have tried there economy product and business product on more than one occasion this is in the last 3 years look elsewhere

  12. Pre Covid was a big fan of PAL LHR to MNL, as you say excellent crew and service and the A350 business class seats were excellent. Best of all the only direct LHR-MNL route so around 10 hours as opposed to say 18 plus with Emirates. Did come back to a degree post Covid but few flights and an agent told me it was finished off by the closure of Russian air space, which I think killed the route commercially, although they ran it via Dubai for a bit. PAL domestically is much like all other Filipino domestic flights a disaster, great when you get on board but every flight I've been on has changed schedules multiple times and on the day often cancelled and consolidated sometimes with a very long wait. So agree A350 in business much better than Emirates on the same route but the roller coaster really dips domestically. Keep up the hard work love your channel and your independence. Can we expect some Filipino hotels soon? Going to Cebu in September and booked Dusit Thani?. Apologies if you've done them and I've missed it!

  13. When you say “no freebies”, does that mean if it’s your birthday or anniversary, you won’t tell the airline that it’s your special day cus you don’t want special day treatment to celebrate? Non reviewers sometimes tell the airline it’s a special day for them. It’s good you want to be unsponsored and anonymous, but special celebration is not an airline trying to stage for your review.

  14. nothing beats the view of a plush green background with so many trees seen via a glass window when the rain is pouring.. so mesmerizing.. so beautiful..!

  15. Another fantastic video, Kevin, big thank you for sharing. And for me its the more interesting as i am considering to take this flight in November on my next Asia trip. Yet, the plan would be to fly KUL-MNL-HND and the connecting time would be 1h only! Is that very risky according to your experience? Would it be better to put in one night in an airport hotel in MNL? But then the hazzle of going through immigration…Alternatively i am considerung to fly KUl-MNL Boracay and spend a few days there.

  16. Recently visited the Philippines and decided to try PR in business class from Dubai to Manila. They advertise the staggered 1-2-1 configuration but I got the outdated 2-2-2. Once onboard, I noticed that crew felt a bit meh. The seat was good but no IFE on like a 9 hour flight. They did hand out iPad but no tablet holder to put it on. Lastly, my 1st meal was actually pretty good but the landing meal is something you could probably get in economy, some kind of corned beef sandwich. I much rather have picked Etihad or even Emirates on the 777, with the 2-3-2 configuration, which says a lot.

  17. I just want to say that I appreciate the way you present the takeoff position and the maps, I like to know the positions and the directions you’re heading for that immersive experience. These are the little details that I enjoy from your videos.

  18. Good news, United Airlines will fly nonstop from San Francisco to Manila on October 29, 2023 and October 30, 2023 for Manila-San Francisco.
They (United Airlines) will fly one daily flight nonstop to and from SFO-MNL and MNL-SFO.

  19. From BKK to ??L in Thai Airways Business Class. Couldnt figure out the Arrival airport lol

  20. Great airline, nice to see they are still doing things well. Had countless flights from Australia and back with them and never a bad experience. They are the Asian equivalent of Turkish or Aegean. Well done!

  21. Apologies l had forgotten to add a comment when l watched. I think those seats are superior and very comfortable even though they are not lie flat. Glad this was a good flight, they have a real issue with inconsistent service. 👍

  22. I flew KUL MNL MEL in JCL for AUD998. I grabbed it and those 2 flight reviews remain trending on my channel almost a year later. So I assume yours will do the same, PR videos tend to do very well. I was so impressed, except for the transit in MNL which was some of the worst I've ever experienced. I believe they have moved their international ops to T1 so that horrible T2 experience is thankfully no longer.

  23. I also thought that these fares may not last long but I guess its to counter the inconvenience of two flights instead of one? I just booked Bali – Melbourne via Manila for just under $400 in business class. Really can't beat the value there, almost reminds me of business fares during Covid.

  24. Just a correction. PAL "hasn't flown to multiple destinations in Europe" for a long time. Remember under the EU Blacklist PAL was banned from serving Europe for a number of years. When that blacklist was lifted, around 10 years ago, PAL returned to Europe but only to a single destination – LHR. Since the pandemic started in March 2020 PAL leased its LHR slot to BA (not sure about the situation in 2023) and, a few rescue flights excepted, has not yet restarted regular flights to London.

  25. If I can guess on your hint of a future video at the end, I’m feeling like it’s gonna be BKK to MEL on Thai Airways in Business… but we’ll see!

  26. Transiting in MNL is almost always a nightmare… I hope you had a decent experience at least.

At least now they are gradually consolidating international flights to other terminals and making T2 a domestic only terminal so hopefully international transiting would improve. I just wish they have some sort of sky train that connects all terminals.

  27. Good video bro. I recently visited the Philippines two months ago but haven’t flown with PAL due to being expensive so I took Cathay Pacific. I hope in the near future PAL operates the A350 instead of the 777
