About Air Canada (from Wikipedia):
Air Canada is the flag carrier and the largest airline of Canada by fleet size and passengers carried. Air Canada maintains its headquarters in the borough of Saint-Laurent, Montreal, Quebec. The airline, founded in 1937, provides scheduled and charter air transport for passengers and cargo to 222 destinations worldwide. It is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Air Canada’s major hubs are at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Calgary International Airport (YYC), and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The airline’s regional service is Air Canada Express.
Air Canada has a fleet of Airbus A330, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft on long-haul routes and uses the Airbus A320 family aircraft (including the A320 and A321 variants), Boeing 737 MAX 8, and Airbus A220-300 aircraft on short-haul routes. The carrier’s operating divisions include Air Canada Cargo, Air Canada Express, Air Canada Jetz (private jet charters), and Air Canada Rouge (leisure airline). Its subsidiary, Air Canada Vacations, provides vacation packages to over 90 destinations. Together with its regional partners, the airline operates on average more than 1,613 scheduled flights daily.
About the 777 (from Wikipedia):
The Boeing 777, commonly referred to as the Triple Seven, is an American long-range wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the world’s largest twinjet. The 777 was designed to bridge the gap between Boeing’s other wide body airplanes, the twin-engined 767 and quad-engined 747, and to replace older DC-10s and L-1011 trijets. Developed in consultation with eight major airlines, with a first meeting in January 1990, the program was launched on October 14, 1990, with an order from United Airlines. The prototype was rolled out on April 9, 1994, and first flew on June 12, 1994. The 777 entered service with the launch customer, United Airlines, on June 7, 1995. Longer range variants were launched on February 29, 2000, and were first delivered on April 29, 2004.
It can accommodate a ten–abreast seating layout and has a typical 3-class capacity of 301 to 368 passengers, with a range of 5,240 to 8,555 nautical miles (9,700 to 15,840 km). It is recognizable for its large-diameter turbofan engines, six wheels on each main landing gear, fully circular fuselage cross-section, and a blade-shaped tail cone. It is the first Boeing aircraft with fly-by-wire controls. It initially competed with the Airbus A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, both now out of production, and as of 2021 competes with the Airbus A350 and A330-900.

I must mention that ordering a specialty food plate (I am gluten free)is never a good idea when flying business….you get a generic economy meal and it’s often terrible. I just know what I can and cannot eat and stick with the regular menu, it’s always better! Off to Dehli in a week, two legs…Vancouver to Montreal, Montreal to Delhi in business …..fun times!
I think the meal is supposed to look like a Japanese Bento.
So I flew business to mexico with aircanada more recently and there was a pre-departure service, although it was just drinks.
LOL LOL LOL DON'T SAY NORTH AMERICAN, SAY CANADA, PLEASE!!!!!!! I LOVE YOUR VLOG, U AND JOSH CAHILL, BOTH 2 OF THE PROFESSIONALS GUIDES OF QULITY!!!!!
I'm trying to find out the type of seatbelt buckles in Business Class so that I can buy an extender before my flight. Anyone know?
“Canadians least favourite airline in the history of humanity” 😂 well said by the American!
Hi Dan! Being called by name has been my experience on all of the Air Canada flights I have taken in First or Business class. I can’t say it’s a policy as I am only a consumer, but that has been my experience.
Flew business class from Calgary to London in 2021 and the presentation was actually really nice and they brought out each course separately (i would have remembered otherwise because it's my pet peeve when I get dessert at the same time as my entree, something about the two smells comingling just absolutely disgusts me??). I don't know what the box situation was about but maybe something to do with dietary restrictions? still, they should have plated it for you! but just for the record, others should know that's not AC standard practice 🙂 Also, I asked for a Coke when we were just about to take off and they gave it to me, they just couldn't put it in glassware because we were about to hurtle through the sky with the seatbelt sign on.
honestly, it doesn't surprise me that Canadians hate AC and international travellers love it for two reasons: first, you don't always know what you've got if it's the norm; second, the international offerings are actually really impressive but the short- and medium-haul domestic Economy flights can be quite expensive, sometimes with few frills, and often without many other options for arriving to your destination. So if anything bad happens it's not "well that's air travel for you," it's "this is AC's fault." Between the virtual monopoly on certain routes, and the fact that you're just not in the same mood if you're flying somewhere to visit your ailing aunt/ see a medical specialist etc than if you're going on a vacation/an exciting business trip, I think it just changes the perception for Canadian travellers. And perception is a huge part of your experience.
I dont kno what to say or explain the bed situation other than it’s just a Canadian thing eh hahaha😅
Lol 😂 good service on air Canada 😂😂
I’m canadian
Air Canada is a shit airline has been for years iam happy you in business class try flying in economy and see how you like it
worst airline in north america period
News alert!!! Air canada has now been voted, along with West Jet the worst airlines in North America. I was shocked when they were voted the best a few years ago. This Canadian girl will never fly air Canada again. KLM all the way baby lol
Is all the food free? Can you eat whatever you want whenever you want?
As someone who’s been on Air Canada’s trans-Atlantic and even trans-Pacific flights nearly every year before Covid, I’ll have to give a lot of credit to Air Canada! Amazing seat, good food and generally good crew. I’ve mostly flown out of Toronto and a lot of their Toronto-based crews are lovely, lively and chatty! I’ve had a flight attendant recommending me not to get a steak on an ex-PEK flight being like “the steak catered here is not the same as what we get at home 😂”, as well as a lady walking down the aisle with newspapers on a ex-LHR flight saying “bad news? Bad news? Anyone want some bad news?” 😂😂😂 The being addressed by last name part is also not new to me on Air Canada, even on a short domestic business class flight. I can’t love them enough ❤
Air canada 🇨🇦
I flew Air Canada just a month ago, and oh boy, the plane descent was very smooth I could hardly feel its wheels touch the ground. That must be the smoothest plane touchdown ever, at least according to my experience. Just flawless. Excellent pilot we had that day.
I will be on a Business Class from Vancouver to Sydney and from Bkk to Vancouver. I am looking forward to it.
It's the damn scorching heat in Lufthansa business that kills me.
I can only agree the hard product and the service with Air Canada is amazing, but somehow they lack in presentation skills for the meals. That they have the skills for a perfect service and presentation is clearly visible in their Maple Leaf Signature Lounge in Toronto, one of the best lounges i ever visited. If they could transfer only 50% percent of this into the sky it would be amazing.
Very informative!! Wait, but did no one notice that they still called Podgorica "Titograd" on that map?? It's been like 30 years?! :O
It must be a norm my mom flew Air Canada’s business class from London-Toronto and they addressed her by her last name!
