It seems the buffet time limits in Japan keeps getting shorter and shorter. During my stay in Tokyo, a few people suggested an unique breakfast experience called The Ginza Breakfast Lab. And the time limit? 50 minutes! Is this some sort of experimental breakfast service with experimental dishes? I intended to find out.

An early rise at 6:00am in the morning, I intended to make my 7:00am reservation. And I guess as the old saying goes, “the early bird gets the worm”. It turned out to be an amazing experience with a buffet of endless little traditional Japanese breakfast dishes that you can try till our heart’s content. Along with the traditional Japanese fare of chawanmushi, oysters, salman, etc, they mix it up with modern fusion dishes… Lobster Bisque Croquette anyone? How about a comforting potatoes dauphinoise?

Care and attention is paid to all the dishes and the quality ingredients and meats are evident especially with their made to order shabu-shabu that you can indulge over and over again. If you’re in the Tokyo area and looking of a great unique experience, I would highly recommend.

  1. Beef, lobster croquettes and octopus at 7am omg!! That Miso Cod dish looked really really interesting! As did the egg dish! 50 minutes is really too short for that amount of food (and it changes your ability to enjoy the experience). How much did it cost? Oh and congrats on hitting 100K subscribers! Well deserved!

  2. Not the usual idea of breakfast items here in the west, but so very interesting. It wasn’t enough time to really sit back and enjoy. I had the feeling you might actually want to eat another breakfast elsewhere. 😂 But first, back to your hotel to change those lobster stained trousers. 😂👍🏻🌹👍🏻😂

  3. Hi Tim wow that was a fast meal😅 never seen you eat so fast my friend. Great breakfast though steak & eggs looked scrumptious

  4. I wonder if they will actually kick you out if you stay a few minutes past the time limit. It’s Japan, they’re usually too polite about things like that.

  5. Congratulations on 100K Tim! I have been a follower for quite a while and enjoyed seeing your channel grow. Cheers to continued success🥂

  6. Tim, congratulations on 100k subs!! You DESERVE it!! I`ve been watching your videos for a while now and with the love and respect you give to the staff and cheese you deserve 100k more!! But a 50 min. time limit?!? 23 years in Tokyo and I have never heard such a limit (90 minimum!!)
Now it`s a new level. Enhance your production where you see need fit, but please, don`t sell out to gimmicks, trends, and being a slave to the algorithm. Keep up the good – being yourself – work – cause that`s why we subscribed!! PS…I`m finally going back to Canada after four long years to see my mom (I miss her so much!!) and my brother bought me a ticket to visit him and his family in Victoria….any recommendations for a "thank-you dinner"?
