CHINA Made C919 First Class on China Eastern

Today I am witnessing history onboard China’s first ever home made commercial aircraft C919 as I travel from Chengdu to Shanghai on China Eastern first class. The COMAC C919 is a narrow-body airliner developed by Chinese aircraft manufacturer COMAC. The development program was launched in 2008. Production began in December 2011, with the first prototype rolled out on 2 November 2015 and having its maiden flight on 5 May 2017. The first aircraft entered into commercial service with China Eastern in the end of May 2023.

    lol you would not get a meal in business class on a 2hr American Airlines flight. 900 nautical miles minimum before a hot meal is offered

    if it's anything like the chinese made electric cars, the engineering of this C919 ensures it will have a BRIGHT future. It will bring a FIRE to the worldwide market.

    You always take the coolest flights. I've been scared to try China Eastern since that crash that seems like it was intentional. After this video I'm less scared. Thank you!

    Let's look at the development cycle compared to 56 years ago in the USA…
    Boeing 747 from conception (1966) to first flight in 3 years (1969), in service 1 year later (1970) with 96 aircraft delivered by the end of 1970. First example still airworthy. Less than 5 years, nearly 100 aircraft delivered and in service.

    Comac C919 project inception 2008, first flight 2017 (9 years), first delivery (one of the prototypes) in service 2023 (7 years after first flight). Engines and avionics systems imported. 15 years to get one aircraft into service.
    Tell me again how, 50 years later, China and the C919 show Chinese superiority. Really, I'd like to know.

    The meal certainly looked good, but with all the air and water pollution, you have to be suspect of the toxins that could be in any Chinese food product.

    Not a bad plane, defo an airbus vibe to it. Nice lounge and soft product on board, thanks for mentioning the crazy distance from airport to city centre, definitely a low.

    It’s actually a bootleg version of the A320 put them side by side and you can’t tell which is which
