Jake, you are an angel and possibly a mind reader, arigatou gozaimasu. 😊
From your video, I know now that a station can have multiple places to exchange and not all of them crowded (as in Tokyo station). I would have gone to the wrong one because my hotel is in that direction. You had already shown us how insane (good word!) was the line at the airport and how cheap it was going to the city by bus. It's also good to know that June is this rainy. Very useful. Thank you.
Good to know, thanks!
We exchanged at the Marunouchi section of Tokyo Station in November 2022. We had a tour guide with us so she helped us to translate. We were the only people there so we were also able to reserve seats for all of our connections (their sign did say if it was busy they would only do a few). The workers there were so kind! The guide and I were working through the details while my husband, mother, and 3 year old son waited. The workers gave my son a small origami ball that had a bell in it and he played with it our whole trip. I am assuming some of these may be more busy now that tourism is more open compared to when we visited.
I also wonder how the big price increases later this year will impact the exchange lines and congestion. With the higher prices, it may not be worth it to get the pass unless you are going to many cities within the time period you purchase.
Thank you for detailing each of these! Very useful to see all the possible spots.
thank you, Jake! I'm also curious about the lines at Narita airport. Since we will be arriving there and staying overnight near the airport before taking the Narita Express the next day into Tokyo, I wonder if it would be better to exchange JR Pass when we arrive in the evening or wait until mid-morning after we check out of our hotel. What do you think? Thanks again – I really appreciate your channel!
Soooooooo delighted for sharing the vital information. Haneda airport we are coming. Thank's soooooooo much for sharing. Florida USA
Thanks for the video, do you know if the day I get my JR I can also make reservations for the night trains, they say that the Nobi Nobi is included in the JR but I also want to reserve for the Single Twin, thank you very much.
