Toronto, you say? LoL.. I think our cruise might have gone astray if we stay there. 😂😉 Thanks for the suggestions for Vancouver though. We've just been discussing this very thing on FB. Great video, thanks Don!
Sounds like a great location, and convenience.
We stayed at the Fairmont at the Airport. It was wonderful.
Both sound great to me.
I enjoy watching your reviews. I was wondering if you have ever stayed in the Queen Mary hotel in Long Beach California. If so what did you think?
I was talking to a friend who has gone out of Vancouver, and they said Canada Place was incredible.
Thanks for those tips Don. We'll be needing to book a hotel for one night in Vancouver before or tour begins next May and I like the look of River Rock.
What about disembarking? Ship to airport. Is it fast to get off ship and would you suggest the transit for returning to airport? I have my first RCL Alaska coming up.
Thank you for all the good info.
Thanks for the tips.
We just did an Airbnb and saved money and got a brand new home that was immaculate!
Great information Don. Have been looking to go to Vancouver & going back to Alaska. Maybe you should do more of these type of vids before or after each cruise you take?
Awesome and the hotel is beautiful
If one is flying into the Vancouver Airport, the Fairmont Airport Hotel is a handy but expensive place to stay the night before the cruise ( but aren't they all these days ). A handy meet up place for those coming in from different flights. Perhaps your cruise agent can book at a better rate. Has a good gym and there are multiple eating choices in the hotel and airport. One can arrange a cruise line shuttle transport both ways when booking cruise or even a few days prior to leaving. Mine was a Holland/Princess bus. If you really want to save funds and can handle your luggage then the Skytrain from the airport will take you right to the waterfront cruise terminal area. Takes about 50 minutes either direction and runs frequently. I just got back from an Alaska cruise and this was a stress free way to plan for a day before arrival. Returned post cruise to the airport with hours of time to spare for a mid- afternoon flight. The place to meet the shuttle cruise rep. pre-cruise is downstairs on level 2 close to the main glass outside doors of International Arrival. Tim Hortons is close by for a location marker.
Great information, thanks
Thanks for the tips, Don
Hello from texas
I went to Vancouver years ago. It's a great city. Most hotel chains have a loyalty program. I recommend taking advantage of these. It costs nothing to join and you can reap benefits especially if you stay at the same chain every time.
Awesome place!
I love the Pan Pacific, in Vancouver and Whistler. Except very rude staff in the restaurant — and you do remember that. Still my favourite though — you can't beat the view especially in winter.
You should check out the new capsule hotel in Vancouver too. They are called the Panda Pod Hotel in Richmond. Fairly close to their airport and they are the only one budget hotel I can find in town. check them out. pandapod.ca
I booked the pan based on your stay there. very excited about this hotel… looks beautiful and customer service already great. the view looks amazing.
Re-watching in anticipation of our newly booked Alaska cruise going in and out of Vancouver. We have never been there and are really looking forward to it. Definitely going to stay here. Thanks!
I have arrived into Vancouver once and it was so great to get a “Bonjour welcome to Canada from the security/immigration guy”.. Hope to sail out if there next year to Alaska.. Thanks for the great info Don..
You Are so Right! Pan Pacific is My Favorite Hotel!
We went on a Pacific coast cruise 5 years ago & the hotel Impressed me so much! We are booked for August when we take Our Alaskan Cruise. The Staff are Top Notch! Our room wasn't ready and we were given the Fabulous room with large windows of The water!! Just great treatment and good Restaurant!
Good information! Thank you.
I stayed at the Pan Pacific Sept 2022 prior to my Alaskan cruise. It really was nothing special, just very convenient!
