Season 8 : Hawaiian Adventures : Episode #212

Hello Friends,

On this episode Sarah and I make the most of her last few days on the island by snorkeling at Ko’Olina before moving on to check out the beaches and bays of the wild west side.

We were amazed by the beautiful and stark difference between the westside and the North Shore.

  1. That was nearly a really nasty fall. those rocks looks so sharp! my heart was in my mouth. beautiful place though. Just so beautiful.

  2. Awesome to be exploring! I fished catalina a few weeks ago on the west end and thought of you turning that corner and setting for Hilo. Respect!

  3. To say your crossing of the Pacific was inspiring would be an understatement. It was an incredible video to watch. The grit, and the perseverance was incredible, as was the honesty and humility when things went wrong. It was far and away the greatest content I've seen this year on YouTube. We're just a couple of woodworkers and not sailors, but we're now also enjoying your subsequent journeys. We look forward to watching your continued sailing adventures and misadventures from the safety of our couch. SUBSCRIBED.

  4. my sincere thanks for some great videos! all the best and good luck with all the adventures to come!

  5. Check out the Big island (Hawaii). Least populated and most dramatic scenery in my opinion. Be careful hiking on the lava!

  6. On those sharp rocks…, “you sill filming?”, “yeah, I won’t use it”, 😂 glad you kept it in the video. Keeping it real! Love your content and glad I stumbled upon your channel.

  7. So glad she didn’t fall. What a wreck she would have been. What’s awesome is when you look out over the water and there’s no orange haze from smog!

  8. Some of those holes may have been blow holes but you also get lava tubes in the basalt flows.
When basalt lava oozes out of a flow front under water it bursts out of Crack and forms a new pillow shaped bulge ..When split open as solid rocks they have radial shell like Layers of bubbles within ..hence the name Pillow lavas 😉👍🏻 indicating they form underwater at a definable minimum depth and cooling quickly traps the emerging gas bubbles before they can escape into the water. Keep your eyes open for them.

I didnt expect to see those corpse star lilly's in that habit ..ive always associated them with dense jungle or bush.. they smell so bad to
attract flys and beetles as pollinators rather than bees or moths bats or birds.
Theres one of the upright giants in flower in a botanical garden near me at the moment .. not sure it will attract that many visitors in a heated tropical house😖🤢.😂

Turbid those first Lagoons may have been but they were clearly acting as a thriving sheltered habitat for all those little reef species to hide from the bigger predators in the open waters.

  9. Thank you..you and Sarah made my morning. Sarah is so much fun and a singer too. Can’t she join you on your boat trips? Really refreshing to see people like yourselves being so genuine.

  10. That's funny, the flowers that resemble vaginas smell beautiful but the flowers that smell horrible resemble a$$ holes. God truly does have a sense of humor.

  11. man, now I am sorry I missed the southwest end of the island. THat place is gorgeous all around but that is spot on location brother!!

  12. Is that the bio preserve that's about 30 mins. outside Honolulu? Great snorkeling there (some years back….) and snorkel rentals. Hanauma Bay?

  13. I was told on Kauai that I should always ask a local before I go in the water, there are some very popular beaches that are crowded with kids and grandparents swimming and paddling around, but '50 yards that way – the current will pick you up and you'll never be seen again.' & really nice music videos of Sarah.

  14. Come by and visit us at Sunset Beach for the sunset! we cruise by the Coco Hut and where Ayahyasca Art sells her jewellery 🙂

  15. What an awesome location! Was not expecting it to be so desolate, and free of buildings and people. I've been to Kauai once in my life and thats it for my experience with Hawaiian Islands in my nearly 45 years. And I'm a surfer! Ive just never been that interested, but your videos really make me want to make the crossing over.

  16. You deserve a great day!
GOOD MORNING! I am wishing you the best day Saturday ever! I'm having a bad day so I am wishing you a wonderful saturday…and maybe I will have a better day also.
    I need your positivity!
    Your friend Joey Z

  17. You were not exaggerating about the smell of that Carrion flower. To see you demonstrate smelling it and to see your reaction, there is no faking that! Lmao

  18. I've been to Hawaii many times but never saw what you showed us. For some reason you know how to find those hidden treasures
    Peace and love
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones

  19. I like your Hawaiian Adventures videos and your sailing trip from the mainland. In addition, you give an actual experience of the Hawaiian Terrain, which is awesome because I have not been there. I also liked your sail boat trip from the mainland. I noticed you have alternative plans incase something happens such as a broken rudder and the alternative way to steer your boat. Take care and stay happy.
