Jodd Fairs Night Market In Bangkok: The Ultimate Guide
Jodd Fairs Night Market Opening Hours
The Jodd Fairs Night Market is open from 4pm until midnight every day of the week. Although the market opens at 4pm, we recommend arriving a bit later when it starts to get busier so that you can enjoy the atmosphere.
How to get to Jodd Fairs Night Market
The Jodd Fairs Night Market is located just a short walk from the Phra Ram 9 MRT Station, which is located on the MRT Blue Line. This makes it easily accessible from a number of stations in central Bangkok including Sukhumvit Station, Lumphini Station and Si Lom Station, all of which are also located on the MRT Blue Line.
If you aren’t located near a station on the Blue Line then you will need to either change lines or potentially do part of your journey via the BTS Skytrain. Google Maps is a useful tool to figure out the best route for you to take, as you can ask it to plan a route from your current location to Jodd Fairs Night Market using public transport.
The main alternative to public transport is to take a taxi to the Jodd Fairs Night Market. Public transport is cheap in Bangkok, so taking a taxi will be the more expensive option – but it’s still likely to be fairly inexpensive.
If you do plan on taking a taxi, we recommend booking via either the Grab or Bolt app. This way you know the price before you book the taxi, and if you book via Grab then you can also pay by card – so you can save your cash to spend at the market!
What to do at Jodd Fairs Night Market
There is plenty to see and do at the Jodd Fairs Night Market, with over 700 different stalls to visit. Every stall has something slightly different to offer, whether it’s food, drink, clothes, or something else!
One of the best things to do at Jodd Fairs is to sample some of the great food on offer. There are hundreds of food stalls, so it’s possible to find a range of food from skewered meat to Thai curries to Korean dishes, as well as a variety of other international dishes and street food.
The Jodd Fairs Night Market is also a great place to enjoy a drink or two. There are a number of stalls selling alcohol, with a wide range of local and international beers, ciders, and more.
At the front of Jodd Fairs there is also a bar area, with a few different bars serving drinks and a large seating area. This is a great spot to enjoy some food and drink whilst soaking up the market’s atmosphere, and in the evenings there is often live music here too.
As well as the above, the market is also home to a variety of other stalls selling clothing, jewellery, tech, and more. Some stalls even offer haircuts, so it’s certainly a night market with lots to offer!
Tips for Visiting Jodd Fairs
Nearby night markets – The One Ratchada Night Market is around a 20 minute walk from Jodd Fairs, and is well worth visiting if you have the time. It’s another impressive night market with a good variety of food, drink, and clothes stalls.
If you walk another 10 minutes from The One Ratchada then you can visit The Street Ratchada Night Market. This market is a little less impressive but is worth visiting if you’re nearby and have the time.
We recommend visiting at least Jodd Fairs and The One Ratchada if you have the time. If you don’t fancy walking between the markets then you can take a tuk tuk or Grab taxi, which should be relatively inexpensive as it’s only a short distance.
Busyness – As one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok, Jodd Fairs can get quite busy. If you want to get a seat in the bar area it’s best to arrive early, as otherwise you may have to stand for a lot of your visit.
The advantage of being stood is that you can wander around the market more to enjoy more of the stalls – so even if you don’t get a seat it’s not a problem!
Bring small notes and coins – As with most markets in Bangkok, the majority of stalls will only accept cash payment. It’s important to have some small notes and change, as in some instances stalls won’t have change for bigger notes like 1,000 Baht.
