Jeep and ATV tours are a thrilling way to see Alaska’s backcountry. Splash through rivers and drive up to glaciers.
With Jeep tours, you’re traveling mostly on dirt roads, typically as the passenger; as a skilled guide drives and calls out points of interest. With ATV tours, you’re definitely off-road: Expect dirt, gravel bars, driving across streams, and maybe even right up to a glacier. You’ll likely have the option of driving yourself, after a quick primer on how to operate the four-wheel, all-terrain vehicles. Expect to pay $100-$300 for tours ranging from a few hours to 6 hours. Kids and passengers get discounted rates.
