Wow. Hooray your brilliant storytelling brings the place to life. So looking forward to your new adventures. X
Nawww Thanks for the Thanks 🙏❤
Loved this vid. Really great facts on NZ🎉
I feel you on the hard to get pet friendly rentals.and the other not so great crime rates……but still worth being this far away from the northern hemisphere 😅
I'm glad you stayed and I'm sure being just across the ditch, we'll meet soon!
Love it!!! Great story telling ❤
I grew up in a city but in my early 50s moved to small provincial town. I found it very hard to make friends but got involved in local groups a d them started to connect. There is a hesitation to invest in FRIENDSHIP if you think the other person is an itinerant. My oldest friend is one I met in the first year of school 78years ago and we are the brothers we never had.
This makes me want to move to New Zealand!
Cool vid. Glad u like it over here. Stink its been hard finding a group of mates. But if u are ever over in whitianga we can catch up for a beer or wine with my wife and I 🤙🏽
Sorry to hear your experience was in Auckland lol
I absolutely relate to the last point you made. I'm Canadian and have been living here for 9.5 years, only back to Canada three times. It was only the last time I went back (last year) that I felt that New Zealand was my home now and Canada wasn't home anymore. It was a weird feeling to be a "visitor" in the country I spent most of my life in. Also, 100% I've found it hard to make close friends here. I'm older and without kids, so I feel like it's hard to find people in the same stage of life that have the time to put into making a new friend. I find it easier to make what I would call "work friends" here, and I just try to enjoy my time with them around work stuff, but it doesn't often translate to us doing things outside of that. But there are so many things that I love here, I'll definitely be staying for now!
I love this video! However, please remember you're talking about Auckland/North Island a lot of the prices, etc are much lower in the South Island. I do get what you say, though – I'm planning to move to Quebec in a couple of years to be with my partner, because house prices are so high here. However, the grocery prices were higher there for produce coming into summer than they are here in Dunedin, NZ in winter (especially taking into account the exchange rate). Anyway, 'welcome home' (in the words of Dave Dobbyn!), and I'm glad to have you as one of us ❤
This helps so much. I’m living in New Zealand and wondering the best place to live here for someone who loves the countryside
Congratulations on your citizenship mate, all the very best to you both.
NZs corporate tax is lower then Australias.
NZ taxes are on average LESS than the us top income tax rate for eg is 33%
Good honest video 🙂 do you work from home or have workmates?
you haven't been to the south island its the best QED
All true! Good job. I'm more surprised you're at my local park when there's so few people. So right about not getting a summer this year. Doesn't help with mould in homes. I'm glad you're here. Mānawatia a Matariki 2023.
I have been living in NZ for a year now, the country has some amazing scenery. But the horrible cities, damp houses, cost of living, all the crime and gangs, the horrible roads, the polluted rivers and lakes in which you can't swim (and that is like 75% of all the lakes and rivers) is really really really bad. There is nothing pristine about NZ there is so much pollution. On top of that the pay is half of that of what I can earn in the Netherlands. I am deeply deeply deeply disappointed after 12 months in NZ I am going back to the Netherlands.
10/10 cow joke
That was a bad ass video. Epic. How old were you when you moved there? I’ve lived in the States and now Thailand where my family is from but thinking NZ is next on my list.
Hi Daniella, enjoyed watching your video! Its very informative and interesting, insightful. I have been thinking for a long time now of moving to New Zealand for 2 years to begin with, single guy, no kids nothing that is holding me from going. I grew up with my grandparents on Vancouver Island Canada i love Van Isle. Its my home however i find overall im looking for a change in everything and weighing out a pros & cons list to it. Everything i love to do as im a everything putdoors guy i ski, kayak, trail run, bunjee jump / sky diving is on the list too! I do it all! Here in Canada everything you could want is here. The downside is new zealand doesnt have great health care then it seems? If you ever needed to see a dr. Canada thankfully because we are covered by medical plans paid through our taxes we can go to a walk in clinic to see dr.s any time thankfully without any charge. Im not sure how New Zealand is for that? I know overall it is a wonderful country and to not worry much about things there because it is overall a very safe country and the people are lovely. Any advice or tips you do have are much appreciated!
Originally I am from Brazil. And I moved here over 12 years ago. I'm 49 years old, and I've reletted on many things you've said. I lived in Auckland for 3 and a half years. And the friends I made there were Brazilian too, or from other cultures. Many have already left and I no longer have contact with them. I remember that at the time I got to the point where I didn't want to meet anyone who didn't live here. Because most were studying or on a work visa. After that time in Auckland, I moved up Northland, and now I live in Whangarei. The warmest and “tropical” part of NZ. It's been two years since I bought my campervan, and it's been 6 months since I've been living in it full time.
Which is super common over here in NZ. I met and made friends with several people who also live full time in their vans. They work on the road in temporary and seasonal jobs. Travel across the country. It's a simple life. But I love it. 🚐❤️
I can’t seem myself living in Auckland.
Auckland is a mixed of people from all over the world. Many who have just arrived. If you really want to experience seeing and living in NZ. Get out of the big cities. 😉
I think the friends thing is even similiar for kiwis.
With a tyrannical clown like Trudeau running Canada, expect a lot of Canadians to exit.
