Join us as we hire a rental car and drive from Matsumoto to Takayama. First we take the Azusa Limited Express train from Shinjuku to Matsumoto and pick up our rental car from Times Car Rental just near the station. We are from Australia and used our international driver’s licences with no problem. We hope you enjoy the beautiful Autumn scenery as we take this scenic drive through the mountains of Nagano, Japan.

How did you find the road? we are planning the same route with one minor concern we’ve never driven on the other side and we will have a mini van.
