Even non-“twitchers” and uninterested bird watchers cannot help but be impressed watching the “Red Crowned” Tancho Cranes that only number around 1,000.

Akan International Crane Center is a sanctuary and breeding center for these tall birds (about my height) with a 6 foot wind span. The cranes were busy doing their mating dance to attract a “hottie” and 100’s of photographers stood around with ginormous lens, clicking away.

A very special place and very special birds.
