  1. I been to Tsukiji wholesale and Tuna auction early in the morning. Back in 2005, it wasn't much of a tourist attraction it is today. There were maybe less than 20 foreigners and that was about it watching the auction. I hear you have to get there at 3am now to reserve a spot now. It is a real dangerous area without a guide and very busy in the morning. I'm glad I got to experience it before all the new rules were put in place. I thought about going to that Edo museum when I was in Tokyo in December, but it was probably closed. Even the Zoo and all the museums in Ueno park were closed the week before New Years. Ueno has some great museums if you get a chance, especially the National museum.
