Hey you guys! Thanks for joining me on another journey. I am still on a private yacht cruise of the Rideau Canal and its lock system in Ottawa, Canada with my best friend, Eric and his fiancee, Jen. We were thoroughly enjoying our experience as the first Le Boat horizon 3 cruise tour to embark in Canada. We are heading to Westport from Portland. At the dock, I found a loon who was chasing fish underwater. I’d never seen anything like this before; it was so cool! I checked out the Rideau District Museum in the cute little town of Westport. It had a lot of fascinating artifacts from the past, especially pertaining to trapping, which the area is known for. We continued to be pleasantly surprised by the super friendly Canadians. If you make it to Westport, Canada, be sure to go to The Cove Country Inn for lunch or dinner. I had their lamb burger, and it was absolutely amazing! We then went to Chaffey’s Locks where we met up with fellow Le Boat cruisers who had set sail after we did. We shared our opinions on the yachts, saying how much we were liking the cruise of the canal system. This is such a beautiful area in North America! Then we went to Jones Falls; the locks there were very cool. This area used to have rapids, which is why they created the lock system.
