Welcome to Taipei, Taiwan – home to the worlds first cat cafe!! After opening in 1998 as “Cat Flower Garden” (貓花園), the neko cafe idea caught on in Japan and became a wildly popular cafe theme around the world. You can still visit the world’s first cat cafe, now known as “Kitten Coffee Garden” in Taipei – which is what we do in this Taiwan travel vlog!

We also eat plenty of Taiwanese food – because how can you not?

  3. I'm a simple person. I see cats, I upvote! Cool video! I'm from Taiwan and didn't know we have the first cat cafe either! Looking forward to your future videos!

  4. Wow, finally you visited my hometown Shilin😃 I love the way you explore Taipei. It's such an in-depth long stay.

  5. 如果你們進入影片談到的兒童樂園和科博館,一定會驚訝票價低廉

  6. The café is so cute. I will go to the café in the future. Thank you for your recommendation.😊😊😊😊 I like your video.

  7. Why not check out eastern and southern parts of Taiwan, since you’re staying long enough? Very beautiful nature there

  8. I didn't even know that Taiwan has the world's first cat cafe at all! did you find out the info just googling what cool things to do in Taipei and just find out about this?

  9. 可以住台灣,然後常常帶家人台灣旅遊陪伴。
    像一些住台灣的網紅一樣。

  10. Didn't expect there was a new video today!! I'm so happy it's less than a week! Thank you for your effort, and I like that you guys found some different content that other YouTubers havn't made before.

  11. I am going to visit this place. Thank you for sharing and hope you have a great time in Taiwan.

  12. Wow! I did not know that the "Cat Cafe" culture started in Taiwan in 1998! Thanks for letting us know!

  13. Houtong is a village with many many cats, people call this place "Houtong Cats Village – Taipei, Taiwan". You should be interested in Houtong Cats Village.

  14. The world's first cat cafe started from Taiwan, amazingly, l've never known until now….
    Thank for informing.

  15. I am not sure if Taiwan had the first "Cat Cafe", but I am sure it's not the first cat cafe in Taiwan. Because I adopted my second cat from a cat cafe in Yunghe City, the old Taipei County in 1996. The cafe mentioned in the film might be the oldest cat cafe that STILL OPENS today.

  16. Those cat warning labels cracked me up! Brb going to get a t-shirt made that says "Don't hug me I will bite your face" 😂

Also loved your comment about how well Taiwan balances nature and cityscapes. I love that you could start your day at a local breakfast stand, spend the morning hiking up an actual mountain, eat lunch at a cliffside tea house, hang out at the beach all afternoon, do some evening shopping at both an authentic craft shop and a Gucci boutique, have dinner at any number of five-star restaurants, and finish the day with snacks at one of the world's best Michelin-awarded night markets. All in one day, in a 20 mile radius. Not a lot of places in the world like that!

Also- we were chatting about editing and audio challenges in the comments on the last video, and I noticed you started adding subtitles to the last segment here- good move, I think that's a handy workaround until all the audio and mic stuff gets sorted.

  17. There's a whole Cat Village called Houtong Village, about an hour by public transportation from Taipei. That place will be your kitty Mecca on the next trip.

  18. Another great video! I am originally from Beiou (but have lived in California for many many years), and literally stopped by Zhishan MRT Station all the time whenever I went home. I never knew there is a cat cafe there though, so now it's on my place to visit next time I go home! Also thanks for showing the baos place. Those handmade huge baos look good and I'll have to stop by to get some next time too!
