This was a truly unforgettable day in Bangkok.
We decided to join a Hidden Bangkok tour along the beautiful canals and backwaters of the city.

That's only the blessings of Thailand growing inside of you 🙏😊. The insane part is, you didn't show any sit down food eats in this video, instead, you've shown a spiritual part of your visit. it's just another reason why many watching your shows love you like we do. Be safe.❤😊❤

  6. I think you guys are staying put in Thailand permanently 🤣 What an amazing experience that was.

  7. Bangkok was known as Venice of the East as there are so many canals in the city. They were the main transport routes in years gone by, but no longer. Still there are still places you can find interesting via canal tour.

  8. Singha beer in brown bottle was introduced/produced into Thailand about 100 years ago using German recipe by King Rama VI court official Pirompakdi family ancestor. It was highly appreciated by both Thai and expat drinkers. Even though other local brand was introduced one after another but could not shake Singha's dominance and died away until Thai Beverages, the largest and most dominant liquor producer (mostly rum and white spirit) in Thailand, decided to partner with Carlberg to produce the Carlberg brand locally to compete with Singha. It also resulted in a failure to challenge Singha. Both sides gradually drifted apart and Carlberg was eventually no longer produced locally. Before the final breakup, Thai Beverages introduced Chang (Elephant) beer in green bottle, which was much cheaper to gain market share from Singha. It was successful in a few years after heavy promotion and discounted price, and became No.1 seller. This was the reason that Carlberg decided to quit the Thai market as it seemed its Thai partner did not care to promote Carlberg anymore after Chang beer was successfully introduced. Singha did not give in and introduced Leo in brown bottle at the same price of Chang and it instantly became a success as well. Now, Chang and Leo are neck and neck, dominating local Thai beer market. Owners of Chang/rum/white spirit and Singha/Leo are Thai billionaires.

Note: Alcohol sale is banned on religious holidays and the evening prior to general election day and the election day itself. On a regular day, alcohol sale is available from 11.00-14.00 and 17.00-24.00 at 7-11 and mini/super stores, Lotus or Big C. However, this is Thailand and you can always buy your favorite beer/liquor at your small convenient store in your village at all hours (if the store opens). Some shops stay open until 2 am on Friday and Saturday in some villages. Don't know why the police ignore those small shops selling alcohol at all hours. BTW, Chang/Leo in 325 ml can costs 36-39 baht at neighboring village stores but 39 baht at 7-11.

  9. Bangkok is an old name since Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam. The exact history is unknown but there are several speculations. From Thai sources, it was believed that the area around the grand palace was full of Makok trees and thus when people settled there, it was called Bangmakok community. Another speculation was the Chao Phraya river at that area was so curved and bended creating a few islands, thus it was called Bangkoh (bang=community, koh=island). Later an Ayutthaya king decreed a straight canal be built to bypass the bended river section to shorten the distance. With years gone by the canal was naturally enlarged due to easier flow and became the present section of Chao Phraya river while the bended curve of the old section becomes 2 canals, Bangkoknoi and Bangkokyai on the Thonburi side. In fact, Wat Arun was originally named Wat Bangmakok before King Taksin (then Ayutthaya official) led some troops to escape the Burmese siege of Ayutthaya and arrived at Wat Bangkmakok at dawn, thus the temple was renamed Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). With Thai tendency to shorten names when time gone by, Bangmakok was later shortened to Bangkok.

In western maps and documents, Bangkok was written in various ways such as Bancoc, Bancok, Banckok, Bankoc, Banckock, Bangok, Bancocq, Bancock. The present "Bangkok" spelling was used by French Catholic chief priest in Siam who wrote to Paris using such spelling. When King Rama IV wrote to western powers in English, "Bangkok" was the spelling he used. Since then "Bangkok" is the official "Latin" spelling of the Thai capital.

Here is the official full name of Bangkok.

Krungthep Mahanakorn Amorn Rattanakosin Mahintra Yuttaya Mahadilokpop Noparat Burirom Udom Rachnivet Mahasathan Amornpimarn Avartarnsathit Sakkatiya Witsanukamprasit

Here is my rough translation. Bangkok Metropolis, the royal capital of Ratanakosin dynasty following Ayutthaya dynasty, a grand palace resided by God King.

But most Thais just call short form as "Krungthep", land of deity.

  10. Wow!

  11. Sawasdeeka 🙏🥰🇹🇭
Foreigners always ask why Thailand likes to build a big Buddha statue and the temple has a large area. Because most Thai people are Buddhists. Various religious activities are often performed in temples. Therefore, the temple is the spiritual center of the Thai Buddhist people and on your way home, drive through, boat ride through or walk through you can still see Buddha statues and temples everywhere. or even at home open the window still can see is to warn reminds us to concentrate, have peace, always live in morality.
