In todayโ€™s Jakarta, Indonesia travel vlog we explore KOTA TUA in OLD TOWN Jakarta and visit the Jakarta History Museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. We try but FAIL at using the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) a high-quality bus-based transit system that delivers fast, comfortable, and cost-effective services at metro-level capacities. Bus rapid transit (Busway, BRT, BRTS) is a mass transit system and is bus-based. You can usually pick up bus cards at the local Indomaret but the one close to our hotel The Holiday Inn and Suites didnโ€™t actually sell them they are only available at select locations so we decided to use GRAB once again!

The Jakarta History Museum is situated in the heart of Jakarta’s historic Old Town, also known as Kota Tua. The museum is located in a central square called Fatahillah Square, named after Prince Fatahillah who played a significant role in the city’s history. The square itself holds great historical significance and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.

Fatahillah Square serves as the focal point of Kota Tua and is surrounded by several important landmarks. One prominent building is the former City Hall, which now houses the Jakarta History Museum. The square is also flanked by the Jakarta Old Town Cafรฉ and the Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum. The area is known for its Dutch colonial architecture, with many buildings dating back to the 17th century.

Fatahillah Square has a vibrant atmosphere and is often bustling with activity. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, observe street performances, and visit the numerous cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops in the vicinity. The square is a popular gathering place for locals and is often used as a venue for cultural events and festivals. Its historical charm and unique character make Fatahillah Square an important landmark and a must-visit destination for those interested in Jakarta’s rich history. A must see when in Indonesia!

  2. I just push the subs button. As I said before to get the bus buy the card at the Indo or Alfa mart. Say to the staff at the shop you wanna buy Flazz card or E – money card. The card price was 50.000 ( 4.3 Canada Dollar ). which is 30.000 for the card and 20.000 for the balance. Every passanger must have 1 card for 1 passanger. Than you must buy 2 card. The bus fare is only 3.500 ( 0.30 cent Can$ ) for all of the route. Even you change many time of the bus, they will charge only 3.500 as far you don't tap out the card.
