Hanoi, the vibrant capital city of Vietnam, is brimming with cultural and historical treasures that will captivate any visitor. Here are some of the best things to see in Hanoi:
1. **Hoan Kiem Lake:** Located in the heart of the city, this picturesque lake is a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists alike. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake, visit the iconic red-painted Huc Bridge, and admire the stunning Ngoc Son Temple perched on a small island.
2. **Old Quarter (Hanoi Ancient Quarter):** Step into a world of narrow winding streets, colonial architecture, and bustling markets in the Old Quarter. Explore the vibrant streets filled with shops, street food stalls, and traditional houses. Don’t miss the chance to taste delicious local cuisine and shop for souvenirs.
3. **Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Complex:** Pay your respects to the father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, at his mausoleum. Explore the surrounding complex, which includes the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, and the One Pillar Pagoda.
4. **Temple of Literature:** This well-preserved temple is a testament to Vietnam’s rich intellectual and cultural heritage. It was originally built as a Confucian temple and later became Vietnam’s first national university. Take a stroll through the serene courtyards and admire the traditional architecture.
5. **Hoa Lo Prison:** Gain insights into Vietnam’s turbulent past by visiting Hoa Lo Prison, also known as the “Hanoi Hilton.” This former prison offers a glimpse into the history of the Vietnamese struggle for independence and its role during the Vietnam War.
7. **Water Puppet Show:** Experience a unique form of Vietnamese traditional entertainment at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater. Marvel at the skillful puppetry, accompanied by live music, as the puppets dance and tell folk tales on a water-filled stage.
9. **Long Bien Bridge:** Walk or bike across the historic Long Bien Bridge, which spans the Red River. Built during the French colonial period, this bridge offers panoramic views of the river and the city skyline.
10. **Ho Chi Minh’s Residence:** Visit the Ho Chi Minh Residential Complex, where the revered leader lived and worked. Explore the traditional house and gardens to gain insights into Ho Chi Minh’s daily life and his love for simplicity.

sorry to hear about the robbery. Take Care!
There's always eyes witching you where ever you keep everything on your person I wear combat shorts plenty of pockets
o hell yea pho for breakfast!! sorry to hear what happen to your stuff being robbed. i can assure you their are TONS of good people in Vietnam because ive visitied it many many times and encountered nothing but good people. ill be tuning in to your journey from here on out.
Welcome to Bulgaria
I'm not Vietnamese, but I'm sorry you experienced that. There's bad people in every country. Pickpocketing is very common in larger cities. I live in the UK and I would still be careful when going around London, Italy and other major cities because pickpocketing is unfortunately a thing. Obviously it is more prominent in other countries because of many factors such as poverty and cultural differences. I would still be careful anyway no matter where one is travelling
thief love to target tourist or foreigner should be every careful in vn.
Zero street smarts
Sorry to hear that. Very unfortunate. I didnt understand. Did you have just the phone stolen or cash as well? Keep well and continue the good work.
I got food poisoning in Hanoi, I was laying in my hotel room having convulsions. Truly a horror place.
It’s humiliating but it’s true. Even I as a native of Hanoi have to say that domestic tourism disappoints even Vietnamese people. Things are beautiful but no one would really return.
Sorry to hear that but they are not Vietnamese, they are from China , or Cambodia, they are drug addicts or gambling.
So sad how Vietnam is so bad place to visit, compared to other Asian countries.
So sorry to hear about your bad experience in Ha Noi, VN. You are right, things go around come around. Things like that happen a lot to tourists; and those pick pocket artists are very skillful. They know that tourists are new to the area and usually carry with them lots of cash. Just be very careful with your valuable things and be vigilant all the time. Everything will be ok.
sorry for the loss. all i can do is sub and give a like
Sorry happened to you. 🙁 Please remember when travel as an (tourist) be aware you surrounded in ANY COUNTRY not just Vietnam, Best wishes.
I'm sorry about that😢
Sorry to hear of your misfortunes. Sadly a lesson well learnt. I can not fully comprehend as to why you would have such large quantities of money. Bum bags are excellent around the waist and the pouch of course it to the front. Thanks for the info we intend visiting Vietnam this year
NAME OF HOTEL ?
I lived in Hanoi for 2 years. I never knew anyone that got robbed in that entire time, Hanoi is a very safe city. I have left my phone on the table in bars, restaurants, hotels, etc and every time it hasn't been touched. You guys got very very very very unlucky.
It's the bad experience. If it happened in the south like HCMc, it might be better. People in the south are very friendly and helpful, they have a group of 'street heroes' who are grab bikers but they will become to hero anytime you need a help.
Sorry to hear this, but for every 1 robbery in Vietnam, there’s probably 100 in the US – and let’s not talk about murders !
Good spirit. 😊
It's absulutely not a cool city, ugly and undeveloped
Hà Nội hoi mình noi ăn ngon.minh ranh lắm
